Noticed the Locked On South Carolina guy just yesterday did his podcast centered around the topic: The thing about A&M that nobody is talking about. They haven't played anyone yet.
And I hear that opinion A LOT about a lot of teams...even as the season gets to the point where everyone has played 7-8 games.
Let's just take SEC teams and the popular They Haven't Played Anyone Yet still coming out of talking head mouths even though everyone in the SEC has 4-5 SEC games now under their belt. Really?
At this point, A&M has played two true road games (@Florida and @MissState, played Arkansas in Jerry World and played Mizzou and LSU and Notre Dame (all ranked in the top-10 when they played them) at home.
The Locked On South Carolina guy goes through the above schedule and opines 'Haven't played anyone yet, @SouthCarolina on Saturday night is going to be a shock to them!!!'
I'm not going to say Saturday night isn't going to be a challenging venue, and not saying all SEC schedules are created equal, but 'haven't played anyone yet' stuff once the season has gotten deep into the SEC schedule for ANY SEC TEAM starts becoming pretty stupid take. Any team that has gotten to 5-0 in an SEC conference schedule has now proven it is a very good team.
How far the season goes from here TBD but the funny thing is that I have no doubt that if, for example, even if A&M wins tomorrow and even if gets to November 30th at 10-1 and 7-0 in the SEC to face Texas...there will still be some talking heads opining 'A&M hasn't played anyone yet. Texas is going to be a shock to them'
