Noticed the Locked On South Carolina guy just yesterday did his podcast centered around the topic: The thing about A&M that nobody is talking about. They haven't played anyone yet.

And I hear that opinion A LOT about a lot of teams...even as the season gets to the point where everyone has played 7-8 games.

Let's just take SEC teams and the popular They Haven't Played Anyone Yet still coming out of talking head mouths even though everyone in the SEC has 4-5 SEC games now under their belt. Really?

At this point, A&M has played two true road games (@Florida and @MissState, played Arkansas in Jerry World and played Mizzou and LSU and Notre Dame (all ranked in the top-10 when they played them) at home.

The Locked On South Carolina guy goes through the above schedule and opines 'Haven't played anyone yet, @SouthCarolina on Saturday night is going to be a shock to them!!!'

I'm not going to say Saturday night isn't going to be a challenging venue, and not saying all SEC schedules are created equal, but 'haven't played anyone yet' stuff once the season has gotten deep into the SEC schedule for ANY SEC TEAM starts becoming pretty stupid take. Any team that has gotten to 5-0 in an SEC conference schedule has now proven it is a very good team.

How far the season goes from here TBD but the funny thing is that I have no doubt that if, for example, even if A&M wins tomorrow and even if gets to November 30th at 10-1 and 7-0 in the SEC to face Texas...there will still be some talking heads opining 'A&M hasn't played anyone yet. Texas is going to be a shock to them'

I'd ask that guy, who has South Carolina played? (I know who, but dang, we just beat a top 10 LSU team that they lost to - does that game not count for them the way it doesn't count for us?) Notre Dame, anyone? Mizzou?

South Carolina has played one more team better than our schedule so far. We have had two tough games in Notre Dame and LSU, and they have had three in LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama. Fairly balanced compared to us and they lost two of those three at home.

Yep. Ask that idiot how many teams have played 3 top 10 teams and have beaten 2 this year.

This is a common refrain when a team you don't expect to be there IS there. Again, it goes back to preseason rankings and how difficult it can be to escape the box a team is placed in.

Think he's saying they've played a tougher schedule and better prepared. USCe got ripped off against LSU (and self inflicted) and had Bama beat, but didn't close it out.

While we've taken care of biz, to me, LSU is only win the national perspective has acknowledged. Losing to ND and looking inept on off then doesn't help.

Think Mizzou win was great as did what was needed, but they were and continue to be vastly overrated and a paper tiger (they will look like tu's win vs overrated UM and will not really count for much in the long run).

Personally hoping Pigs nab a few good wins to close out (esp vs tu) as that helps show they were tougher than appeared. The same w UF, but not sure where it will happen (they're improving, but gauntlet of games).

We haven't looked great on the road (pigs was so so game and personally thought very mediocre vs a bad MS St team). IF was a solid showing, but discounted as everyone says they're no good.

USCe is hanging their hat our team has played in a tough environment and will not succeed (just like 2 yrs ago there) and they've had a bye wk to prep for their SB.

If tu, Alabama or LSU had had a comeback like we had last week that was due to our defense, keeping us in the game, our interceptions, especially the second one and our explosive offense they would've been gushing, gushing gushing.

I am so sick of this disrespect, but then on the same hand, it just makes me wanna win more and prove these ****ers wrong.

And you noticed that these are the same people that are still pumping up tu.

i think this guy thinks he knows what he is talking about but he doesn't.

south carolina home field advantage is so intimidating that they are 2-2 at home with a dominant win over ODU/ that's old dominion 23-19 and against the other powerhouse akron who has won 2 games. i mean don't get me wrong it should be a good game but we ain't walking into death valley, the horseshoe, etc.

i hope our team plays with a huge chip on their shoulder and just bludgeons this team. quite frankly our team is being insulted and i hope they take it that way.

Some dude has an opinion that means no more than anyone else's.

His team has zero good wins. His team has zero wins against an SEC team that has more than one SEC win.

Exactly! At some point, this whole 'hasn't played anyone' take just gets ridiculous, especially in the SEC. We're well into the grind, facing top-10 teams and tough road games, but apparently none of it counts until the next 'shock.' If we keep winning, they'll still be saying the same thing right up to the Texas game. Guess proving them wrong week after week is just part of the fun.

Let's talk about teams who haven't played anyone.

Let's compare our schedule to undefeated Penn State's (to date), BYU, Iowa State, Indiana, Miami, Pittsburgh, Army

Let's compare to other one loss teams. Who have they beaten? Ohio State, Texas, Clemson, SMU, Kansas State

Outside of 1 good win over Bama, who has Tennessee played? Notre Dame beat us early, but you going to claim beating Navy and Louisville is better than Missouri and LSU?

The majority of the top 20 hasn't played anyone, and the ones who have haven't beaten the one or two good teams they've played.

We probably have a top 5 resume at this point based on quality of wins and quality of losses.

Hey man, whatever let's them sleep well at night. After tomorrow it will be Auburn's turn to say we haven't played anyone yet.

I don't really think playing @SC is that big of a deal.

What are we, something like 4-1 there and the only loss was that magical 5-7 2022 season and we would've won that one had we not spotted them 17 points.

A lot of teams haven't played anybody still.

Tell me who BYU and Iowa State have played? Indiana? Nobody.

We haven't played in a lot of good teams, but LSU would definitely qualify but I think Arkansas will prove to have been a good win by the end of the year. It's already looking that way.

Yes, I left Missouri off on purpose. They are absolutely horrible. They will lose 4-5 games by the end of the year

And lets add Clemson which one talking head compared their schedule to the Mountain West.

Well, if we haven't played anyone yet, then that won't change between now and Monday…

Missouri is a bit of an unknown. They barely beat Auburn, but only had Cook in the 1st and 4th quarters. He led an epic 4th quarter comeback.

He left the bama game when it was 6-0. His replacement threw 3 picks in what become a blowout.

As an Aggie I obviously want to find evidence that they don't suck as bad as they seem to, but it appears they are at least pretty good if Cook is playing.

USCe is where we were with j8mbo. They just can't figure out a way to win the close games.

I did hear yesterday this is the latest in the season a SEC team has only played one road SEC game. Go figure

Lots of coincidences with that sip schedule.
