I think there are a few scenarios where your 3rd bullet results in us being left out.

Jk, thanks for this OP! Can't wait til we get divisions back in some form or fashion and can put these stupid tiebreakers behind us.

Hell no, we're actually in a conference title race finally without divisions. They're not needed.
