SC averages 3.7 yards per carry, 186 yards passing per game for 8 TDs and 4 INTs, SACKED 4.6 TIMES A GAME! We will shut down the run and Elko and company will dismantle their passing game.
I like to think we will pressure and hit their QB to the point he becomes incompetent like Nuss was in the LSU game. Task 1 is take away the running game. Task 2 is to take away the passing game. When we complete Tasks 1 & 2, Task 3 will be easy - wear out the SC defense.Detmersdislocatedshoulder said:
south carolina reminds me of old aggie teams back in the day. a really strong defense with an anemic offense. as we all know how that plays out it means it will be a hard fought game that will be lower scoring and competitive until their defense wears out.
this is the type of game you keep running the rock even if in the first quarter you only average two yards a carry. the carries will add up and over time they i'll become tired. we will string more drives together even if we don't score points and i see their offense having quite a few 3 and outs or short drives.
this is a game we will win in the second half. and i look for our YPC to be above 5 in the 3rd and 4th quarter.
Aren't we #1 in the sec in offense? At least in conference play?Detmersdislocatedshoulder said:

We may not have a high flying passing attack, but we aren't even close to anemic.
3.7 ypc is just enough for first downs.Tanker123 said:

The question is. Can they do that against our defense and always average 3.7 yards to always get a first down? lolBill Superman said:3.7 ypc is just enough for first downs.Tanker123 said:

Elko is the genius.

Ags 24-13. SC's vaunted defense has racked up their stats against woeful Kentucky, Oklahoma, and non conference offenses. LSU, Alabama, and Ole miss averaged 30+ on them. The elite aspect of their defense is the pass rush, which we will negate by not passing.
We've won 5 conference games by an average of 2 TD's. That ratio will not change this weekend.Mike Elkos Burner said:
South Carolina has a good defense. Not great, not elite, good. People are acting as if they're 2022 Georgia. Their sack numbers are also heavily inflated with a 9 sack game against a terrible OU offensive line, & 5 sack games against Kentucky and Old Dominion. Don't forget this is the same "great" defense that allowed kiffin's rebels hang 27 on them IN South Carolina the week after Ole Miss got man handled by Kentucky. Ole Miss won 27-3.
Another thing to note, sacks are not beneficial to win against a team who runs the ball nearly 50 times per game. They WILL wear down over time. Their d line is made up of smaller, faster rushers. There are no Shemar Stewarts or Shemar Turner esque physical specimens on their line that will physically dominate us. LSU & Ole Miss both ran for 130+ on them. They're not invincible. Good challenge but I'd bet my hard earned money we end up running for close to 200 on them. Everybody looks good until they get their ass put in the dirt by Moss. I'd take Elko over Beamer 10/10 times without a question.
Hope Beamer has been coaching his team up on some fake punts and field goals, they will need those Mickey mouse plays to score on Elko's defense.
We'll win 33-10.

I've listened to a ton of unbelievably bad commentary on this game that flies in the face of every stat, measurable, and eye test around. For some reason SC is getting full credit for causing turn overs and having a mobile quarterback, but the turnovers we force are considered 'gifts', and now that Reed has another half of football on film every team we play should be able to shut it down. The bias is just disgusting. I haven't propped up this team in a long, long time, but I don't think this game will be close. Ags by 14

yes we are and that is why i stated old aggie teams like in the 70s, 80s and 90s. back in the day ags we're known for great defense and an offense that struggled
to score 10 points. hence the anemic offense i compared to south carolina.
