I do think he is right about one thing though, that we have to keep the plan to use both QBs in the game plan to force teams to prepare for both guys. And now, we have the luxury of practicing pass heavy packages for Reed and QB keeper options for Weigman that will go against the tendencies teams will be expecting when either of them is in the game.

The Bear, Stanford Steve, Pate and pretty much all the guys who do this for a living generally have a record either at or just under .500 for the year. Anyone reading this comment would, too, so it's no big deal.

This year seems to be the most reactionary I've heard Josh be. Normally at the beginning of the year he's quoting something about memaw's molasses. Not so much this year.

Irritated that he makes an argument about Texas, Georgia, and Ohio State not being able to run as a detriment but then doesn't recognize that A&M is one of the best rushing teams in the SEC. When he was arguing patience for Bama, he made many points that Bama had failed on (and borderline sounding like carrying water for them). All I could think was, take all of that and look at A&M. A&M has done that, why can Bama not do it. Who had more transfers? bama or A&m?

As for this game, I didn't really hear him explain how SC could win other than its a rough spot for A&M if they aren't locked in from the emotional win over LSU.

Which my take on the game this Saturday is if A&M can take care of the ball with no turnovers and play clean, less penalties, what does SC have?

A&M wins or doesn't irrespective of what he thinks...so....who cares?

(I mean, lets be honest, A&M of the past would lose a week after they had a potentially season defining win).

I watch his show every week, and he's VERY complimentary of A&M every time he talks about us. He mentioned how Elko will bring us up to a championship-caliber team and how A&M finally made the right hire after all this time. He even went as far to say that CFB fans better get used to hearing Elko's name all the time just because of how good we'll be.

The only reason he expects us to lose to SCar is only because we're a year 1 team and year 1 teams tend to "faceplant" themselves against tricky matchups.

I am not surprised that Josh Pate is picking South Carolina. I think South Carolina is our toughest road game this season. We are coming off a tough home game against LSU to play a road game at night against a well-rested South Carolina team coming off their second bye week. South Carolina is in SEC games with 25+ point road wins over Kentucky and Oklahoma, a 3-point home loss to LSU and 2-point road loss to Alabama. South Carolina's only blowout loss is a 27-3 home loss to Ole Miss on 10/5 after their first bye week. For these reasons, I can see South Carolina upsetting us.

Hopefully, we can beat South Carolina to extend our winning streak to 8 games and improve to 6-0 in SEC play. I think a road win at South Carolina will result in carrying a 10-game winning streak and a 10-1 (7-0 SEC) into the Texas game. The crowd will probably reach 110,000 people.

Pate is not biased. Picking either team in a game where the spread is only like 2-3 points isn't an indication of any bias. You are going to get a mix because the game is close to 'coin flip'.

If we were like 20 point favorites and somebody picks against us…that would be showing a negative bias

Pate also whined that Sips dropped one spot in the AP after struggling with Vanderbilt and a week removed from Georgia humiliating them/him. He's got no problem with Tennessee being ranked 7 (ignores that they lost to Arkansas and should've lost to Florida at home), and Pate lost his mind about how bad Missouri is [ranked] without ever mentioning they lost their QB in the 1st Qtr vs Bama.

It takes some added context to keep up with him.

Well, Pate has never sh** on Kyle Field and the 12th Man before. Nor has he publicly cried a bunch of crocodile tears about social issues on behalf of the network that pays him.

Go with Reed. Superior passer by far plus adds running ability. Really depends on Elko and whether he wants to repeat his ND mistake.

I clicked the link and it is against the spread which is a little better than I did back in my gambling days. My poor results are also the reason I stopped sports gambling.

They have some very good DE's and their offense is improving.
Special teams are Beemer specialties.

Crowd noise is different when its against you.
Our Defense is pretty solid. O-line damn decent and getting better.
We play a PHYSICAL brand of ball, and wear them out in the 2nd half.

Ags still win.

He was right about one part, don't plan to use one QB. Plan for both and adjust depending on what their defense is doing.
