The DJ plays fun music. It's a good atmosphere in Kyle Field. I get it. But can we get a break from the remixes and give the student section and yell leaders a chance to do some yells? We didn't even get to do a BTHO LSU once the game started. Non stop club music.

I'm not saying do away with the DJ. Just give us some room for tradition. Nickelback remixes are not what made this university great. Tradition is. It's one of the most commonly cited reasons for folks coming to this school. Am I alone on this?

Timing is everything.
Wish they'd let the constant crowd noise continue while the opposition is still trying to radio the play in.
Seems they cut to a song, people quit yelling to sing or dance or whatever, and don't stop until they're lining up to run it and snap it

Incorrect, the gameday experience with a DJ is significantly better than when I was in school without a DJ. That said, they can be better about coordinating between the band/yell leaders.

Season ticket holder. Get there early, stay to the end. I've yet to hear any 'music' from the DJ except the occasional REK or Deep in the Heart of Texas.

More DJ for night games. More band/yell leaders for day games

Many olds don't want to admit it, but this is the truth. I remember all of those lethargic 11am games during the Fran era. The DJ would have helped us power through those sad times.

I'm an old (46) and I'll admit it. I know I'm not the only one either. Of course I've got Snoop Dogg on my playlist right next to David Allen Coe sooooo…

It has to suck to be in the Aggie Band these days. You march in, and do a halftime drill, and get to play the War Hymn and Spirit of Aggieland and wildcat a handful of times, but have to listen to rap music the rest of the game.

Interesting how evenly split the crowd seems on the issue! Again though, I don't think there should be no DJ. Just give some space for yells and the band.

Disagree. The best thing ever is to hear the student body, "12th Man", yelling. They don't need music, except from the The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.

I want what the players want. If they think a DJ can help them win, then let's have a DJ. If they think black jerseys can help them win, then let's have black jerseys. If they think having everyone stand on their heads and sing Santa Claus is Coming to Town can help them win, then let's have everyone stand on their heads and sing Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Let's face it, 100+ years of the same ol' yells and brassy military songs hasn't produced a winning / championship program. I'm thinking it's OK to take our collective heads out of the sand and try something new.

Yes, this no longer exists and for some reason no one of influence is doing anything about it.

This part is just false. We did "BTHO LSU" least 7 times after kickoff. I have a bruise on my arm from doing it so obnoxiously, so often because there were like 10 LSU fans near me.

The DJ kicks ass and if you can't see that (there's footage of cameras shaking as the kids are belting the words to Mo Bamba and LSU is false starting) I don't know what to tell you. Everything down to blasting Callin' Baton Rouge after we iced it was incredible.
I bet you thought this signature would have a not-so-subtle reference to my political opinions, didn't you? Made you look.

It was amusing watching my dad (class of 80) yelling, "turn that mess off", every time the DJ cranked the music. I think they should turn it off sooner, but it didn't take away from the experience.

I have to imagine that most of the people against the DJ haven't stepped foot in Kyle in a while. Saturday night was absolutely electric and the DJ played a role in creating that environment.

Sorry today's students don't like exactly what you did 40 years ago.

You're an old at 46? Good god, man! What the heck does that make those of us in our 60's? Extremely old?

I live a long way away and have only been to a couple DJ games, but I liked them. As long as it doesn't take away from all the traditions, it's additive, IMHO. Those traditions are what make CFB so great. Whether its 100,000 Aggies sawing it off or 100,000 Vols singing Rocky top at the top of their lungs, there are few things in life that are a better experience.

The band still plays, and the DJ defers to them whenever they do play. After the NCAA changed the rules about when bands could play in 1986 (ask the SMU band about that rule), you hear the FTAB a lot less than you used to. I think the mix is about right. They should probably mic the band up a bit so that you can hear them throughout the stadium (it's hard to hear any band if they aren't playing in your direction).

Nice word. I am good with them as they are.

Fun fact: Not sure this still how it is but the head Yell Leader would suit up for Two a Days. Tough. Lots of respect.

I think there should be a balance. Those ignoring the fact that some of the music pumps up the players are being willfully ignorant. Also it seems to energize the students. BUT it does often steamroll some of the elements that make the game experience at Kyle special. Seems like the greatest impact is in high-intensity situations like Mo Bamba on 3rd and long.

Side note. I had never listened to the actual Mo Bamba song and gave it a listen out of curiosity recently. Holy crap, what an abomination. The bass line sounds cool blared over stadium speakers, but it kills me that there are so many people who actually choose to listen to that for "musical" enjoyment.

I can assure you none of today's yell leaders are suiting up for football practice. You know how I know? Because they're still alive. Those dudes would get killed on a football practice field. And I mean literally killed.
