If a running back is off to the races and gets smashed by a safety he never saw, is that targeting? Clearly, it's not. Neither was that block. It was a damn good football play.

Because there was zero crown of helmet, clearly a shoulder shot, the helmets clicked but that was just from how bodies flop after hard contact….and I can't even really call it blind side either.

Funny, he didn't get hit in the back at all.

Think it just comes down to if you think he was defenseless or not… I can't personally see how a safety who is running up to fit a run gap/where the point of attack is, as being defenseless (he's headed right where the play is developing), but I guess it's a judgement call on the field.
