There is a military concept called Center of Gravity (COG). A COG is the true strength of an organization and Elko can be characterized as being the most important one. He can tell top talent he has built a pipeline to the NFL and the recruits will love that.

The best thing about Elko, and I've thought this since his first year as DC, is that he knows how to get the best out of players. That's both in development and in moving players to where they will be most effective, even if it requires a position switch or an adjustment to scheme. Klein seems to be cut from the same cloth.
