Kirk's job is to make good TV.

People loved the dog on TV.

Yell at the clouds some more if it makes you feel better though.

I know this may be shocking to you but not everybody loves dogs
Some people feel that dogs should not be allowed anywhere

Here's an idea... don't post every thought in your head. Just let something like this slide on by

This is hilarious! I'm a bad human being because I don't want to watch a man cry on television. You feel sorry for those around me? Does that include my pets? Me with the afflicted.

I *love* pets. Five years ago I had to have my cat Dax put to sleep and cried several times over it... privately.

Kirk has 3-4 goldens. This one is Peter. I think it's the puppy.

Chopping onions on a Saturday morning. Yeah, that's it.

Some people are horrible. That's not in dispute.

Not wanting a dog in restaurant is understandable.

Being upset someone brings his dog to a press box is sad.

My point is even more clearer now!

Empathy = emotional intelligence and social, self awareness awareness which you probably lack. If a grown man crying bothers you, you more than likely have some deep seated emotional shortcomings. If a grown man crying on TV due to a loss of a best friend (regardless K9 or feline) my point still stands.

I don't trust anyone who doesn't like dogs. Now not having one is fine, but dogs are amazing animals and I have cats too.

People getting this upset over this just need to get a life. I'm sorry. What a pathetic thing to complain about. Ben wasn't hurting anybody and most people loved it. If you don't like it, just don't pay attention.

Again, I don't trust people that don't like dogs. And when a dog doesn't like a person, I trust the dog.

I'm genuinely disgusted with many of the olds on here making fun of Kirk. Dogs and cats are great pets and it sucks to lose them, I called in to work when I lost mine and anybody who frowns on that can eff off.

What does him crying on television last year have to do with his dog this year and the dog dying?

I have both dogs and cats too. They're both awesome.

As a man who has taken many extended work trips of 1-3 months in unfamiliar places, all alone, I can 100% relate to having my dog with me during those stretches helping me tremendously. After my dog passed, who provided a similar part of my life as Ben did, it was so much harder being away from home for so long. The solitude was very difficult to deal with, to the point that I had to stop doing my longer work trips, which went from fun and exciting to depressing and lonely. But when Willie was with me, it was like being home, a comfort. Without him, the solitude was more pronounced and depressing.

Dogs are incredible, and screw anyone who doesnt appreciate what they provide, even if they don't personally like having them around. There's a hole they leave behind that not everyone can understand, but damn if they make life better for most of us. If that's not you (in general to those on this thread), then tough ***** Stay off this thread if you're so offended. For many of us, dogs provide something much more than can be appreciated by those who haven't experienced what they can bring.

Anyway, whatever flaws Herbie has shown, this is an issue that makes me feel some positive connection, as someone who has been in his position, even if not necessarily the same. Losing a canine best friend was one of the hardest days of my life, and if you can't comprehend that, that's fine. Just keep it to yourself.

He presented it better than I could have after I put my dog down. Of course, it was during the covid ****, so that made everything harder. I have no doubt that he had to do many takes to get through 2 minutes. I probably couldn't make it 5 seconds so soon after.
