Coach Jackie Sherrill: The Texas Aggie football freshmen had a grade point average of 2.6, which is higher than than the average Texas A&M overal grade point average of 2.3.

Wow! Our Texas A&M GPAs were really low back in the 1980s.

2.0 and go was real in Aggieland 40-plus years ago!

I was there a year after this video. Jackie did not put up with failing grades.

Grades were earned that far back and not just given out. They had weed out classes and that is what they meant they wanted the chaff gone. When I attended in the 90's it started to change and you could do extra. Now my kids go there and like the rest of the world most are given things so they feel good. The students of today would fail in more ways than one if they had to go back t the 80's where nobody gave a dang about your feelings.
