I've watched multiple analysts say the run games will cancel each other out, and they trust Nussmeier against our defense more than Weigman against LSU defense. Weigman will need to keep his turnovers down if we are going to have a chance to win. Can't force anything. I hope he hears all the doubt and wants to prove them wrong.

This is my only fear. Weigman doesn't show. I Love the dude, but he's not consistent. He could have the Moxy of Johnny Football, but something is missing.

Nussmeier does have an arm!

Qbs don't play against the other Qb, though. Hopefully other aspects of our team surpass theirs to give us a win.
(Such as our DL and coaching, that come to mind first)

I think with enough starts Weigman could be amazing, but something is obviously preventing him from being consistent. Hopefully they can get that ironed out this week

We need our DL to get consistent pressure on Nuss or he will pick our weak secondary apart if he has time.

Conner also needs the WR group to step up like the LSU WR group. Then we can see what happens.

The Weigman that shows up is predicated on opposing team pass rush success…

ND and Ms St had enough pass rush to get his feet happy and play too fast and not make the reads (felt uncomfy).

McNeese St and Mizzou had no consistent pass rush and he had time to think and react and progress on reads (didn't feel uncomfy)

LSU DL is best we've seen season to date and high probability of creating a pass rush and CW clock will speed up and he will not come off 1st reads.

LSU friends say game plan is simple this wk for them - stuff the run and put some pressure on CW and game is over. They think we are untested and haven't played anyone too difficult yet (vs their sched thus far).

Time will tell.

What we need is Nussmeir on the turf on his back repeatedly. He is good.

Like watching Russel Wilson last night, I wonder how long Weigmans leash is- but I hope we don't find out!

Take the analyst picks with a grain of salt. Only one ESPN analyst picked us to beat Arky and every one of them picked sip over Georgia. BTHO corndog. 33-21 Ags.

I think we are going to have to blitz a lot to try to make Nuss make mistakes. He showed in the Ole Miss game he will sometimes force it too much. Need to blitz the hell out of him (like RC style on Andre Ware) and hope we get some turnovers

Against Missouri he had multiple receivers on almost every pass that were open - and many times wide open. They played a lot of lose zone coverage, AND couldn't generate any pressure on Weigman.

Miss St was a little better in coverage. ND was much better. Not sure what to expect from LSU. If you look at stats through the first half of the season they have been poor at pass defense, but they have tightened it up in the last couple of weeks and their pass rush is pretty formidible.

We have to be able to protect Weigman and he can't try to force it.

A big issue with ND was their blitz. Conner was off, we didn't pick up their blitz effectively, and they did a very good job of man to man coverage.

If Conner plays like Mizzou and we pick up the blitz, we will win.

I don't think LSU will be able to play man as much because our run game is much better now.

I gave him too much credit. He has 11 yards on the season.

Secondary really isn't that bad, negative Nancy. It's not great but greatness is coming and 5x better than last year. 100% positive you and your buddies would be a hell of a lot worse

Interesting. I would think most would say ND is better than anyone they have played up to this point. Missouri is probably better than anyone they've played other than Ole Miss.

We ran pretty poorly vs Miss St and vs Arkansas (before 4Q when Arkansas subbed their backup DL in that long Moss drive).

Nussmeier can have a ton of incompletions and still get hot late to pile up 14 more points really fast. Weigman seems to be hot or cold, depending on the game.

It is funny how that even by WEEK NINE the analysis is often still based on 'so-and-so hasn't played anyone yet'.

Apparently there are only about five teams in the country who are 'somebody' and then everyone else is complete trash and beating them doesn't prove anything.

Year in and year out, nobody has better athletes than LSU. QB can sling it. They will be the best team we've faced this year. Having said all that, we are favored. Hats off to Elko and company!

Funny that they can say we haven't played anybody… their loss to USC is looking pee-ew stinkier by the day. Notre dame is as good or better than ole miss, and they hardly 'beat' ole Miss…

That's… that's not what mirror means.

This game will come down to winning the turnover margin. If the turnover margin is even, I still like our chances of winning. I predict a close 31-24 win over LSU.
