What he gets, and what the SEC doesn't understand (other than the Aggies), is that power is not decided by wins and losses on the football field. That is where the SEC made their mistake. They thought the old guard could corral them in by beating them on the football field. Texas just LOST and look what is happening.

When I look, I see TV ratings that validate the decision to add horn and OU. The SEC has been a TV ratings powerhouse this year and both horn and OU have contributed to that.

That may be true but if the SEC were a corporation they would be giving Sankey a raise not firing him.

**** take. I agree that some schools can't keep up, but TAMU, UF, LSU, UGA have plenty of money too, especially us. But his premise is exactly why this bs needs to be regulated soon, before it becomes nothing more than who has the most money to spend to build a roster.

Something like a Yankees vs Dodgers World Series perhaps...?

Enh. The MLB has actually shown how the highest payroll doesn't get you to the promised land far more often than not recently.

"We have money"

"The SEC is full of small town automobile dealerships"

I hope they continue with this attitude. It will be thier undoing.

in the last 60 years texas has one natty.

how will anyone keep up with that level of success.
well, if it's been 84+ years..... seems like we have nothing to say about "success" !

you do realize the massive contrast to the way the media pushed one program above and beyond all
others. it ain't texas a&m. the point is texas
in all its glory has won a total of one natty in 60 years. that's the same amount as BYU. and far less than bama, lsu, michigan, usc, ohio st, miami, fla st, nebraska, OU. i can keep going.

that is the point. not a comparison to us who ain't won **** and isn't pushed by the national media.

His (Jeff Ward's) premise seems odd to me. If sips have "all this money & resources" such that they're going to make the rest of the SEC regret them being in the SEC, then:

  • Why didn't the sips stay in the Big12 where they were ostensibly still/already rich and have an easier schedule?
  • Why did the sips want in the SEC? The main advantage is gives them is a bump in recruiting and more money (but they were already rich beyond belief, per Jeff Ward), so...

Sometimes Jeff Ward makes you think, but this time seems like he wasn't thinking. The whole video seemed to be motivated by a combination of hubris and lunacy.

Summary from this tu ass:

Texas will own the SEC and dominate the sport because of its wealth.

What he diesnt get is that there are scholarship limits, and not everyone wants to go to texas. They couldnt dominate the Big 12- in fact, they fell behind, despite an even greater diisparity of wealth than they'll see in the SEC.

He gets right that the SEC will regret adding them. But not because of their power- ecause they are Aholes.
