ridiculous.

we are still too inconsistent to be making ridiculous claims like that.

Neither are half the teams above us.

I wish our "fans" would actually root for us .
i root for the team. but i can also admit we are not a top tier team at this time and we are too inconsistent to pencil in "sure thing" wins over imaginary opponents.

So, you think we'd be favored to lose to ISU, BYU, IU? And if we're being honest, ND is a shell of the team we played in game 1 due to injuries. So I actually agree that, if we're being objective based on SOS, roster integrity, etc. then A&M is more accurately 10 than 14. I also agree that pollsters move us up more grudgingly than other teams, despite quality of win and down more drastically despite quality of loss.

At first glance this isn't a huge deal but it is when this level of bias can impact whether or not we make the playoff. We ARE held to a higher standard and won't be treated differently until we break through despite it and win big (See Clemson before they won their first natty).

Go cry in the corner if you can't handle success.

you are the desperate idiot claiming imaginary victories over non-existent match-ups.

Compared to your imaginary losses?

You need to find that corner quickly before you wet your pants.

Inconsistent? We lost week 1 and haven't lost since. Only the undefeated and LSU can make the same claim. The difference is our wk 1 loss is still ranked.

After that willy nilly win over Miss St. A&M is lucky not to drop several places. There should have been a wider margin of points in this barely scrape out a win game. There is nothing to be proud of in this game!!

So what is Tennessee then? Consistent?
i do not give a crap about TN. I was talking about our team. And my point is correct.

We are not a consistent enough team to be declaring any future victories.

Imaginary or real.

You can care or not care about whoever you want. But you actually have no point if you aren't willing to analyze each and every team under the same lens you analyze us. Because that would require you to admit that the logic that is keeping us at 14 would require 5-6 teams above us to also be 14 or higher.

Remember that these are rankings, not betting power ratings, so wins and loses factor in. That's why I don't have an issue with Miami, ISU, and BYU (and even Indiana to an extent) ranked above us. They're P4 and have won all their games, so the rankings should at least somewhat reflect that.

So BYU is lucky to not drop several places then, right? Iowa State? Why hasn't Miami dropped every week needing miracles to beat subpar teams?

Again, many of you have no idea how to objectively look at each team to determine a ranking. You hold us to standards you don't hold others to. It's the same way the media views us. Does it matter at this point? No. But if both us and Tennessee take care of business, we are ranked behind the rest of the season. Why? Because they beat Alabama who lost to Vandy? Because they beat Oklahoma, a name you recognize but who cant complete a forward pass? Why is LSU given so much credit for beating Ole Miss, but not much taken away for losing to a team we beat? You can't answer these questions because you would have to admit you and the media are holding us to a ridiculous standard.

AP poll is still heavily influenced off of bias from preseason rankings, luckily none will matter when the cfp rankings come out

ISU won by 3 points
BYU won by 3 points
Miami won by 7 points

You believe all of those teams should stop several spots in the polls, correct?

Some thoughts:

I'd put Penn State at 2 and Georgia at 3. Georgia has a better win, but I have to respect the undefeated status of Penn State at this point. Their game against Ohio State will sort a lot of it out.

I would drop Texas below Miami and Tennessee, primarily based on their SOS. Their wins have been inferior competition, especially with the recent downfall of Michigan and Oklahoma.

Clemson is ranked way too high. Similar to Texas, their wins are against bad competition, with the only good opponent being a blowout loss to Georgia. I'd put them 15 or worse.

LSU is an interesting case. They have a bad loss week 1, but have a good win against Ole Miss. Unfortunately, Ole Miss is hard to judge because of their poor SOS in the early weeks. Their Kentucky loss looks awful. I think 8 is a little overrated for LSU at this point given their 1 loss.

No issues with BYU or ISU being around top 10. Until they lose, P4 undefeated teams should be ranked accordingly by this point in the season. I'd have them over Clemson and potentially LSU.

A&M is slightly underrated at the moment. Of the 1-loss teams, we have the best case besides Texas and Ohio State. We got dinged hard for the week 1 loss, and poll inertia has made it difficult to climb back.

Watched the BYU game. OSU was away team and was heavily depleted on defense and top RB was out hurt through a few critical series and BYU needed a miracle to win in the end. Good on them and I like their team, but we played away at MSU. This is an example of where I scratch my head and there are several others too, but as long as we win next week I think we will crack the top 10.

Mediocre Ags here celebrating that we aren't top 10.

I want us to be NO 1.

Let's get rid of BAS and other weird superstitions. Let's embrace being winners. We seem to have gotten comfy being losers, let's flip the page.

I don't commend the sips, but at least they wear their (fake) No 1 status with confidence. Let's be confident and try to get to No 1.

No reason to move up after a C+/B- performance. Offense overwhelmed an inferior team despite mistakes, defense got gashed early and often before adjusting. At the end of the day it doesn't matter

Oh really. UGA beat the number one team and a current top 10 team. PSU's best win is Illinois who is 20 and has not beaten anyone of note. By what criteria would you say PSU is better than UGA?

ridiculous.

I am confident that we would beat:
- No. 3 Penn State - their quality win is over No. 20 Illinois...quite possibly the most fraudulent team in all of football
- No. 6 Miami - they have 0 ranked wins and have been begging for a loss the last three weeks
- No. 10 Iowa St. - no impressive wins, they barely beat 3-4 UCF this week
- No. 11 BYU - ranked wins over SMU and KSU (meh) and they needed a last second touchdown to knock off 3-4 Okie Lite and they are terrrrrrrible
- No. 13 Indiana - they have 0 ranked wins and the FBS teams they have beat have a combined losing record

There is not a single team ranked ahead of us that I would mark down as a guaranteed L so long as we are healthy.

I think a win over No. 8 6-1 LSU will get us into the top 10. This is a battle between the two 6-1 teams on 6-game winning streaks and undefeated in SEC play. We have won 3 straight home games against LSU, including the last two by 13+ points each. Hopefully, that trend continues.
