My uneducated take on yesterdays game

1. Defense came out flat as can be, but really stepped it up in the second half. Van Buren was under constant duress. Good on Elko and Bateman for making the adjustments needed.

2. O-line tore it up all day. Very few TFL's and I don't think any sacks. Also our third down efficiency was excellent. Good play calling from CK to keep drives alive.

3. CW was less than stellar. He had wide open receivers and just overthrew them. We have to clean this up. Until we do, we aren't going to get the decisive wins we should be getting. There's no reason we didn't hang 50 up on MSST. Do we have any eye doctors on here who can get him an appointment?

This team has the potential to be in every game. We're a consistent QB away from dominance.

4. WRs dropped a least 2 deep passes. But otherwise looked good

Don't sell yourself short… besides, it would be more efficient if the few people who knew what they were talking about prefaced their post wi5 "my educated opinion"

Weigman better play better against LSU than he did yesterday . He made some really bad throwing decisions and was lucky there wasn't at least one pic 6.

I'm really curious as to the lack of playing time Moose is getting.

I wish we could get our TE more involved with receptions kind of like how Kennedy was utilized in 2011-2012.

The Moose is loose. As in, the Moose is a loose cannon. He can't be counted on to maintain his composure and is good for at least one stupid penalty or wtf were you doing on a play every game he plays.

Reading between the lines of what Elko has said in the past, Moose is lazy in practice. Elko isn't gonna reward him with playing time until he shows he's willing to earn it, which I don't have an issue with. I just wish Moose would grow up and realize he is his own worst enemy in this situation.

4. I don't recall any throws to our tight ends. I thought passes to the tight end were an important part of CK's offense.

5. Van Buren was the best player (by far) for Mississippi State. It will be interesting to see if they can put a better team around him this year or next. Or maybe he will transfer.

Tre Watson had a huge play on 3rd and 23 but outside of that I don't recall a lot of TE involvement either

If the Ms. State DBs did not have hands of stone, we lose this game. Very fortunate to get the win.

Hats off to the second half adjustments on D...and lets not forget that Randy Bond continues to be nails.

I believe he also dropped one, but the placement of the pass may have been off, I can't remember

Curious? Moose is a walking crucial 15 yard penalty. Great talent. Hair trigger temper. Will he ever learn? Been the same under two coaches who have been trying to get his attention. He'll get another chance before he's done or goes nil and becomes someone else's problem. Ball is in his court and rightfully so.

What's his dad doing? He has better in-home coaching than most kids.

If we don't come out flat we win by 40.

If doesn't matter.

Can we please cleanup the snaps to the qb, this is getting ridiculous. Counted
at least 5 bad snaps yesterday and the game before sucked as well.

He is unable to control his emotions which leads to him being a liability.

CW was great on 3rd down conversions, especially in the first half. He made some great throws on 3rd downs. He also won his second SEC game in a row. I believe he will play better at home against LSU.

Yall realize that Mississippi St was within 10 of Georgia at Georgia?

I know their record is bad, and their defense is bad, but that's a very good offense. Be proud of the second half defense, and take the good SEC road win.

Jeff Lebby and this QB are going to be salty the next couple of years.

Back to #2. Not few TFLs, one. And zero sacks.

I still would like to see Moose out there. At least give him some playing time early in the game. He seems to change the defense when he is out there. They focus on him more and leave other wide receivers open.

He also had one go sailing high and behind him. Think that may have been one of the interceptions.

Does anybody else think Weigman's footwork looks off (throwing off the back foot in particular)?

I watched a lot of his HS games and the all star games as well as his few starts before this year and I just remembered him looking at lot better in his footwork and mechanics. I remember making note of how good it was.

Maybe he's just not comfortable or has lost his confidence, but something seems different about him this year.

Could it be because of relationship problems? Did he breakup with his long time girlfriend?

Between those quotes, and we've seen him just take some plays off if he knows its not coming its way, thats enough reason to not play him
.Its confusing though, because we see him go all out and make both great plays and great hustle plays, so he just has to find a way to be that player all the time.

Its a bad habit he has picked up, and its due to not being able to trust his OL early this year (and honestly his entire time before this at a&M)

He did suffer a foot injury that required surgery. Maybe he is dealing with chronic pain. He looked very slow when he kept the ball on a read option play.

An "injury" is causing everything. ?

Noah Thomas was wide open for seconds on the interception on our 10 yd line which led to MSU's last TD. CW did not throw till the defender had closed on Noah.

Footwork for a QB is a huge part of their game, not having confidence or having bad habits can change everything

Wouldn't shock me in the slightest if Moose gets pt vs the corn dogs.
