He's making our multi-million dollar program look dumb.

Discuss.

His team is playing with nothing to lose

We are simply playing to not lose

Big difference in mindset and execution

I felt that way during the game, but then I remembered we make just about every coach we play look like a genius no matter who our coach is. It is a country club with n the football program. They party on other people's money. No reason to expect it to change. Mostly non-caring, lazy athletes and coaches come here just for the money.

This is what he has to work with in rural Ohio:

How many students attend Bowling Green university?

Bowling Green State University has a total undergraduate enrollment of 13,853 (fall 2022), with a gender distribution of 43% male students and 57% female students.

Yeah, I don't understand how so many coaches can come in and even if we beat them, their guys look like they know what to do, where to be.

I'd say a far higher % of their plays looked well executed vs ours.

I don't know if our guys just don't focus as well, or if this is a case of david just consistently caring more than goliath, but it's frustrating to watch.

But yeah - whatever their coach is doing, he's doing it right. That team definitely plays well beyond the sum of their parts. Seems like outside of a few games here and there, we rarely see that on our side (across coaches).

Those are very nice odds!

Yep, their coach did a great job both in prep for the game and in execution. Same was true when they played Penn State. It's a cheap shot to BG, to say we played poorly. Instead, I think we got lucky to get out with a win.

Say whatever you want, but their coach used all the tools in his tool box, had great management of the game, and apparently had great rapport and interaction with his other coordinators/coaches. Kudos to BG !

Wonder if BG would give us a Trade-in ? Our old model BG coach for the current model ?

The default answer when the team doesn't perform to expectations. Is there a class i was supposed to take when I signed up for Texags 20 years ago?

When you a play a team like BG, there is no upside - unless you considering putting in 2nd / 3rd string or those who need more playing time. As a baseline, you're expected to win and no one cares. Lose and you'll have your a&& handed to you.

Smaller schools force coaches to be more resourceful / creative and play with a chip on their shoulder. Like other posters have stated..."you play not to lose".

Yet, it's possible at some point, it catches up with a smaller school coach - just ask Shawn Clark of App State.

It's always amazing to me that when I watch college football each weekend I see a LOT of offensive skill position players on less than top tier programs that look way better than the talent we put on the field. This year it's especially true at all four QB, WR, RB and TE.

I would hire the BG OC right now as co-OC. Much creativity and hard to defend plays. Good on BG. Almost got us.

BG had some really good offensive plays called. Thank goodness their 6th year quarterback missed some wide open receivers.

Did I hear right that BG had 30 seniors on their team this year? That explains a lot about their consistency.

BG is still gonna lose 3-4 more games. They used all their turbos on us.

No. Kyle Whittingham and Gale Gundy seem to be consistently great coaches in player development and game preparation. It is frustrating to watch Aggie football year after year have the same problems with organizational culture, lack of focus, team discipline, etc.

I don't think there's a lack of fucus, but team discipline & organizational culture are definitely not our strong points it seems.
