Overall arky's not looking too bad this year.

Petrino's O vs Elko's D should be a great show, a chess match if I was capable of grasping the nuances.

And there'll be 2 weeks of film out on Reed, perhaps even an identity for arky's D to gameplan against. I figure our OL needs to come a long way in 2 weeks, but AFAICT most of it's schematic & mental, so it's doable. I'm not so sure where our WRs will need to get by then.

So it'll be a good initial data point on our ability to succeed in a sustained/steady-state environment.

But uh let's not look past Bowling Green either.

Too late. You're looking past Bowling Green…

Bowling Green will also be a telling game. Mizzou seems pretty good this year and BG got within a TD at their house.

It will be a good building opportunity for Reed.
Starter attention/prep during the week
Game vs BG at home
Piggy @ neutral site
Then (if Connor isn't healthy by then) Mizzou @ home.

That could build Reed quite a bit.

IMHO, the Gators were a bigger threat than Pig.

Pig is still undisciplined. While their Offense CAN be dangerous, I don't think their QB talent is ready for Petrino's offense. Their D is not good.

Think we will Control the Clock against them just like last night.

But previous post was VERY Right. Don't look ahead.

BEAT THE HELL OUT OF BOWLING GREEN!

Weigman was a game time decision last night. Could be recovered by next Saturday and potentially start…although if I was Elko I'd ride with Reed until proven otherwise.

No crucial mistakes, made plays to extend drives. Could possibly improve his throwing mechanics, throw tighter balls…but honestly they got the job done.

Why do people think Bobby Petrino is some OC savant? He hadn't been an OC for over 20 years when Jimbo pulled him off the scrap heap (and that 2002 Auburn team was ok but didn't score much against teams with winning records). He had been mediocre-to-terrible at his last 3 head coaching jobs, and he was 13 years removed from his good-but-not-otherworldly success at Arkansas

I love Conner, but Reed fits the Klein/Snyder system. Think Ell Roberson, Michael Bishop and Klein himself. Rest Weigman's shoulder and see if Marcel continues at a high level. I expect he will.

They were just in a dog fight w/a bad UAB that Trent Dilfer has cratered in record time and they blew a 21-7 halftime lead to Okie Light losing in 2OT 39-31.

You sure you're watching the right team?

Best I've seen this worded. His mobility compels adjustments on the fly by opposing DBs, which is really helping our WRs get open.

Arkansas sucks. Period. Ran up the score on likely the worst team you'll ever see. Choked a game away against the Pokes. Struggled badly at home against UAB. They're repeating what they did with John Chavis. Taking a failed coordinator and parading him around like they just hired Chuck Knoll. They're a dog against a pitiful Auburn team. I can't wait to beat those bums again.

Why not? Nothing discussed on this board has any impact on the outcome of the games.

Weigman is a great QB but currently needs a much deserved rest. Let him recoup and start MR and see what happens after he recovers.

We are currently 23-point home favorites over Bowling Green, but it won't be a cakewalk. Bowling Green led No. 8 Penn State 17-7 with 12:48 left in the 2nd quarter before Penn State outscored Bowling Green 27-10 during the rest of the game to escape with a narrow 34-27 home win. That means we cannot take Bowling Green lightly and look ahead to our next SEC game against Arkansas.

Bobby Petrino's offense can be dangerous, but Arkansas has not been good at winning the turnover margin and squandered scoring opportunities. In Week 2, Arkansas outgained Oklahoma State 648 (416 passing and 232 rushing) total yards to 385 (326 passing and 59 rushing) total yards and had a time of possession of 36:14, but they lost the turnover margin 3 to 1. Also, they missed two field goals and had a turnover on downs twice. As a result, Oklahoma State rallied from a 21-7 deficit with 5:05 left in the 2nd quarter to defeat Arkansas 39-31 in 2 overtimes.

UAB was coming of an embarrassing 32-6 road loss at ULM but they led Arkansas 17-3 with 14:51 left in the 2nd quarter before Arkansas outscored UAB 34-10 to escape with a 37-27 home win. Taylen Green completed just 11/26 passes for 161 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception. For these reasons, Arkansas is a 3.5-point road underdog at Auburn.

I would like us to dominate Bowling Green from start to finish and beat Arkansas by double digits, but I won't be surprised if both games end up being closer than expected.

First we said ND would be a telling game. Then we said Florida would be a telling game. Then it's BG, now Arky going to be a telling game… then Mizzou.
I think we can just say all of them will be telling games.

We've seen past Arkansas teams struggle early in the season only to come out and give us hell for 4 quarters and even take us into overtime

I hate the Arkansas game because on paper we should be able to beat them without having to sweat it out, but it rarely seems to go that way

None other than Bill O'Brien's #24 ranked squad that beat already beat Florida State and went toe to toe with Mizzou. Teams might want to stop looking past them.

UAB was in the game Vs the hogs.

They play at Auburn this Saturday. Whomever loses this one I will not be concerned at all about them.

Yeah, but we aren't playing them.

It is weird that Boston College is the team that's playing assassin this year, though

Part of that is probably because Arkansas is the king of losing close games under Pittman, and lost a ton of them under Bielema as well. Good enough to hang around with most of the SEC but rarely able to seal the deal because of dumb, self-inflicted mistakes like fumbling the ball around against OSU in crucial situations.

The KJ Jefferson "Superman" fumble at the goal line a few years ago was a great example. Just no logical reason to do that and it was a huge momentum swing for A&M.

It was over at the time I said it.

it's pretty sad you are so ignorant not to understand what took place after I said that. Not repeating it again bc you clearly are only interested in getting the win no matter how it occurred.

It's even more sad you chased me on another thread to confront me. Let me guess. You kept replying to me on the LSU game thread over and over. But since I was watching the Ags and not seeing your responses, it drove you crazy. So you went to now two other threads to talk about it to me. Do you even understand how pathetic that looks. I guess I have a stalker now. Of course since it's the first time in about 40 interactions with you where you got the win so I guess you really need me to state it. Ok you got the win bud.
