There are some money factors involved in trying to keep the Pac alive. If they do so, they get to keep NCAA revenue shares, among other things.halfastros81 said:

The Pac-12 announced additions of SDSU, Fresno State, Boise State, and Colorado State in 2026. Pac-12 needs 2 more schools to maintain FBS status.

There is no automatic berth in the CFP under the new rules. It's top four in rankings with byes, and the 5th (by ranking) get's an at large. Theoretically, the SEC or Big Ten could be shut out.Dr Lane Trowlan said:
