I don't even think 6 wins is likely at this point as the only games we MIGHT have had a shot on are all road games and we simply can NOT win SEC games away from
Kyle to save our lives

Their most epic blunder was before that post. In 2017 after losing 1st SEC series to Vandy, their comment was "season's over".

Of course, we proceeded to play in Omaha during the CWS.

But, alas, they get a lot of stars on F16 for posting rah-rah vitriol.

Where is USAF… Notre Dame guy that couldn't get enough of poking his head into the Zoo to tell everyone how good ND is even after the game. I miss him…

In 3 other recent instances, the QB didn't put up "Heisman" performances, but it seemed like they played far better against A&M then came way back down to earth the next week (or following week when they played a decent team). Those include:

South Carolina 2022
Arkansas 2021
Georgia 2019

The point is at least somewhat valid. Maybe a bit hyperbolic in terms of "Heisman" and "destroyed" but replace those terms with more general ones and it has substance. That's just going back 5 years or so.

Many moons ago, a well known football coach said that you could
normally only get a team to play at their peak 2x per year.

ND put a lot into beating our Ags, and we helped them win with our play.

Fans and media put ND in the 12 team playoff after their win over our Ags.
ND payers bought into that, and figured a win was there at home week 2
vs, an unranked lesser foe.

It happens every year in college football. State Penn almost lost to Bowling Green
after beating WVU at Morgantown last week. Sure hope BG is not real good since we
play them 9/21.

What have you seen in our defense that leads you to think this? In two weeks neither team threw the ball down field. Both teams knew they wouldn't have time in the pocket nor would they be playing against a bad secondary

The Aggie defense is really good. Weigman and the receiving corps, not so much

Just assuming there is some innate quality about a Texas A&M football team that makes it impossible to win on the road is dumb. There are very specific reasons jimbos teams couldn't win on the road, not the least of which was his insistence that our team be the only squad in the country that shows up 2 days before a game. They sit in the hotel with their thumb up their asses for 36 hours and then wonder why they come out looking flat. Elko will have them prepared from an organizational sense for a road game. If they lose it will be because of talent or X's and O's, not some fatal flaw
