On Monday’s edition of TexAgs LIVE, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as fall sports are underway. Football fell to No. 7 Notre Dame over the weekend, volleyball picked up a pair of wins and much more.


Football falls to No. 7 Notre Dame, 23-13
It was a game that felt more lopsided than the final score indicated. An alarming outing offensively doomed 20th-ranked Texas A&M as No. 7 Notre Dame spoiled Mike Elko's debut in Aggieland with the nation on watch.

Notables:

  • Fourth-largest crowd in program history with 107,315 in attendance.
  • Le'Veon Moss registered double-digit carries for the sixth time in his career. His career-high 20 totes resulted in 67 yards and one TD, the seventh of his career.
  • Will Lee III tied his career high with nine tackles, including a game-high eight solo takedowns. He added one PBU and 0.5 TFL.
  • Taurean York shared the team lead with nine tackles.
  • Shemar Turner registered a career-high seven tackles, including four solo takedowns and 0.5 TFL.
  • Tyler White boomed a pair of 60-plus yard punts, including a long of 62, to finish with an average of 54.0.
  • Graduate K Randy Bond now has 41 made field goals, good for ninth all-time.

Soccer gives up late goal in 1-0 Loss at Baylor
Texas A&M yielded an 85th minute goal to Baylor in a 1-0 loss against the Bears Friday evening.

  • 85' | Tyler Isrig raced to find a small shooting window from 25 yards out down the center channel. She quickly unleashed a left-footer into the right upper 90. BU 1, A&M 0.

The Aggies return to action Thursday when they host the TCU Horned Frogs in a 7 p.m. contest at Ellis Field.

Volleyball picks up a pair of wins
Jamie Morrison’s Aggies downed South Alabama (3-0) and McNeese State (3-1) over the weekend to kick off their 2024 campaign.

The Aggies return to Reed Arena for their home opener where they host A&M-Corpus Christi Monday with first serve set for 4 p.m.

Two women’s golfers post top-1o finished at Carmel Cup
Texas A&M golfers Adela Cernousek and Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio registered top-10 finishes to wrap up the Carmel Cup Sunday at the historic Pebble Beach Golf Links and led the Aggies to fourth place on the team leaderboard.

Cross country perform at Cowboy Preview
The Texas A&M women's cross country team claimed the team title behind San Juanita Leal's debut victory, while the men placed second at the Cowboy Preview Friday at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
