CW is just not very good. Mond was at least serviceable.

The fact that we're still comparing our current QBs to Mond, who graduated years ago, just illustrates the sorry state of this program.

Thought of this just now too. Most of our QB's Pre-Jimbo> #15. Last qb I can think of that played this poorly was Mark Farris. Unfortunately, he never gave us a chance.

Those last 2 possessions were basically forfeits by the offense.

Mond is A&M's all time leader in most QB stats and helmed an A&M squad that finished with the school's highest ranking since 1939.

Apart from a handful of notable exceptions (some more arguable than others) he was better than every QB who played for the school.

My post had the caveat with a handful of exceptions. Who do you have in mind? Obviously JFF is the goat. Tannehill is the best QB going by his professional career.

Mond is the best QB we have had since JFF. Wiggy looked like Zach Calzada at Colorado a few years ago

Saying mond was a good qb for us isn't a "hot take". People just don't like him bc he got wrapped up in the political stuff at the time.

He may have been frustrating at times but ended up with a good record.

Weigman looked scared l, he looked nervous and honestly I'm not sure he'll ever be able to recover. Prior to the broken foot, he appeared authoritative and wasn't afraid to stay in the pocket. Now, it seems like the littlest of pressure gets to him and instead of rolling out like every QB in the world does, ours tend to stay and either rush a throw or get sacked. I don't wanna hear about the OL, he had plenty of time and opportunities to make plays and he didn't. Go grab the Florida QB and hit restart. Who know's we still might be able to finish on an up note.

I didn't like him because he was robotic and I felt he put a real limit on our ceiling offensively.

But he wasn't bad.

I think all of JFF, Trevor Knight, tannehill, Jerrod Johnson were better.

Calzada vs Colorado: 18/38, 183 yards, 1 TD, 0 Int
Weigman vs Notre Dame: 12/30, 100 yards, 0 TD, 2 Int

Calzada played better vs Colorado than Weigman did vs Notre Dame. Yeah, Weigman was going against tougher competition, but it's worth noting Colorado had future 1st rounder Christian Gonzalez in the secondary that day. Weigman straight up had the worst performance I've seen from a A&M QB in the last 10 years (albeit Kyle Allen's 3 pick-6's vs Bama in 2015 comes close).

If we had Mond level of QB play we could win 8 or 9 games this season. Maybe. Our WRs are still a big concern.

Leonard played just like Mond did. Not a great passer but could run to make plays.

OP has to be trolling. Career stats are a joke when used as data points for comparison. No neck Mond was serviceable and ended up having a great career but come on man. He was never elite and OP knows it.

Kyle Allen's performance in a 21-16 win over ULa Monroe is as bad as this, when adjusted for competition.

He was 13-28 for 106 yards, 1 TD/ 1 INT

Over Monroe.

Next week he lit up a ranked Auburn on the road.

Anyhow, just saying that we've seen some crap play before. This one against ND was terrible, no doubt (agree about that)

I didn't realize saying Sully was a racist and therefore this school is racist, is political. The entirer blm movement wasn't political, it was a farce and bad for the country.

No ones feelings were hurt, some of us were just not going to support someone who is divisive and denigrates our school and the country. That's more important than a game.

I've always supported good Ags, even if they were playing mediocre; Even if I didn't want them to start; Even if I would disagree with them politically.

At this rate, most Aggie QBs were as good or better than Weigman.

Mond was great.

Mond performed for us like a backup should perform, like he was surprised he was in the game. And that's what his role should have been -- a backup. A school with our resources and access to talent should never have to start a QB with his limitations.
