The worst was his decision to go for it on 4th and 5 in 3rd qtr with team playing like that. They scored on the next drive. Right they were just trying to get delay of game. By center snapped it and wiegman acted like he just caught grenade. Just threw it away. I knew then Elko has 2 years max.

This 1000x. I mentioned to folks that after last season the team needed to earn our respect. Happy hour started in the 3rd quarter this year…social event.

Reminded me a bit of Kyle Allen vs LSU many years ago when he thought there was an offsides and threw an int on what he thought would be a free play, but wasn't called.

It wasnt about the scheme. He was more likely to be pissed at the performance in general, especially of the qb. The game was already basically over and we were still throwing it around like idiots. He was basically saying "just run out the ****ing clock"

Well, from the video, he looked like the fan base read on TexAgs. Something ain't right and they are not on the same page (HC/OC). That right there might be the issue reflected onto Connor Weigman. That offensive play calling was very 'offensive'.

The context of that clip is that that was when we had 6 seconds left in the game, down by 10 points, and Elko just wanted to GTFO out of the stadium by running down the clock. He's a coward and a little *****.

Or…hear me out here…the game was over and he wanted to run the clock out on 1 more play rather than attempt to throw it and possibly cause the clock to stop, which would mean we have to run another play. No need to risk injury in a game that's already over. Really no different than pulling starters early in the 2nd half when you're blowing a team out.

I think Elko was as surprised as the rest of us on how bad the team played.

This was a measuring stick game and i'm sure he had a realization that this team is not even close

It's a sign of a smart coach. Game is over, so no need to add additional plays and risk injury. If we would have thrown and had another play or 2, and Weigman, Voss, Thomas, or etc get hurt and lost for the season, this board would be imploding even more.
