I feel bad for Mond. I know he struggled but I think it was Jimbos fault more than anything. Though discussing that is just beating a dead horse

I think half of the board dislikes Mond because he supported BLM in 2020, which was and still is literally just an anti-white, neo-Marxist pile of trash.

He also wasn't a very good quarterback, and it was frustrating to watch our passing game struggle under him for 4 years, but I do think that was partly Jimbo's fault.

Sadly, I think you're correct. Right or wrong, Mond's statements about Ross and the people who support keeping the statute on campus made him seem like he views A&M as an "us vs. them" or "good vs. bad" institution, with the ones he disagrees with being simple racists. He said outright that protesting Sully was protesting racism, and so the counter protesters were therefore pro racism.

It was an incredible oversimplification of the issue regarding Sully, but he was clear that he felt those who disagreed with his take were overt racists.

He's also been clear that he views his tenure at A&M as a stepping stone for his career, and I don't think I've ever seen him have any desire to serve as an ambassador for the Univeristy itself. I don't think he feels any connection to the University itself, other than the relationships that he had within the football program.

And that's ok. I hope the best for him, though I know he doesn't value the things that I valued regarding Texas A&M. But I can't help but feel he was a mercenary QB who had no real attachment to A&M itself.

I don't hate him like I do Schloss, but I put them in a similar category.
