Key notes from Liucci’s thoughts on Hicks
- First of all, there have been a couple of reps already that I have seen from DJ Hicks in fall camp that have that five-star ability and everybody wants you type of flash. That’s every vulture and predator in college football trying to convince him to go in the portal when Mike Elko got here. He didn't.
- I look at stats from last year, and I don’t care. I watched the tape from the bowl game, and it made me know that DJ and Dalton Brooks were ready to start. They will have to fend guys off.
- When you watch the Texas Bowl, it makes you realize they’re different. They stand out on there football field with with how they move.
- With DJ, it’s a different level of athleticism in that 300-plus pound body. He really benefited from Tommy Moffitt. He had the body type where you either really tone it up and he looks like an NFL defensive lineman or he gets gains weight.
- He looks like an NFL defensive lineman today. He’s one year removed from just getting on campus. He’s going to change games.
