We got to 7 wins last year with a 2nd and 3rd team QB. So you are saying we only going to 8?

And same Ags cry when Ags get hype as well.

Is someone saying we might ruin a good team's season "hype"? That seems like a crappy best case scenario to me.

I would say McElroy is a condescending ass for basically saying that the best we can do is ruin the season for an actual good team, but history is very much on his side, and he's probably right. So I'll just hope he's wrong this time.

Uh what? No. I'm saying McElroy said he thinks we can win 10 games and people are acting like he said we suck.

ESiPN hasn't figured out or wont figure out how to write a positive narrative for a conservative military school in the south. McElroy's backhanded compliment is actually not bad. Besides having a lot of talent, all we have so far is Kool Aid. I like being the underdog and kicking the higher ranked teams' arse. We seem to excel at that. At least at home. For now, I'm drinking the Kool-Aid and think Nic Scourton will lead the league in sacks, the O-line will play with a mean streak, Reuben Owens will have a break out year when he's not hit in the backfield and Wiggy will stay healthy and be in the Heisman race.

Of all that, Elko has proven before at A&M, Notre Dame, Duke, Wake Forest that he can put together a damn good defense. I have a lot of hope for all the rest. BTHO Errbody!

I can't believe anyone would read that and be pumped. It's basically a patronizing pat on the head...."maybe you can wreck a good team's season." In short, he had to say something positive and this is the best he could do.
It may be accurate, but is nothing to be excited about.
Lol, the VICTIMIZATION here is STRONG.

He says he thinks we could potentially win 10 games.

There's nothing backhanded about that.

Our team is currently projected in the back half of the conference, based on roster, prior year records, etc.

We have a favorable home/away schedule with our toughest games against Notre Dame, Missouri, LSU, and Texas at home and winnable road games at Florida, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Auburn. With that schedule, I am expecting a floor of 8-4 and a ceiling of 11-1. Hopefully, we can beat Florida on 9/14 to snap a 10-game road losing streak and win a road game for the first time since a 35-14 rout at Missouri on 10/16/2021. Otherwise, our road losing streak will reach 11 games, and our road win drought will exceed 3 years before our next true road game at Mississippi State on 10/19.

Next year, we will have a much less favorable home/away schedule because our toughest games against Notre Dame, Missouri, LSU, and Texas will all be on the road. Hopefully, we can take advantage of a favorable home/away schedule to finish at least 10-3 this year because it will be even harder to accomplish that goal next year.
