Back in the day (and maybe still, haven't seen the magazine in almost 50 years now), they would mention so many on each team, relatives of those mentioned all had to have a copy. I didn't realize it was still being published.

It used to be a tradition for me until one of their employees posted a childish tweet about the Aggies from their main account. I don't believe they're anti-Aggie, but that moment made me realize how much they've declined in quality from back in the day. I probably wouldn't buy another one unless there was a cover I really liked.

Fortunately I'm still on Dennis Franchione's mailing list so I was reminded to drive to HEB and pick up my copy.

I have traditionally gotten the summer edition every year (lately for the high school stuff more than college). They can never get their act together and get the magazines out to normal outlets like book stores, HEB and Walgreens in mid summer like they used to. Last year the season was almost started before I could find a copy. Now I have less reason to be interested in the high school content, so I'm not sure I'll worry about getting a copy this year.

I only found the Fall issue randomly at one Randall's grocery last year. I guess they're more focused on subscriptions now.

Still like the ritual of flipping it open every year, even if I follow the game much less closely.

I just subscribe. I got mag in mid june. Plus the love high school games on friday night are well worth it.
