I was hoping to buy some UT/A&M tickets for my husband and son in law and came across this post on our local Facebook site. I spoke with the A&M ticket people who told me to post my question here. Would appreciate any advice
He said he would transfer via Ticketmaster.

The poster said

I'm selling out our(4) tickets for 2024 Texas A&M
Aggies at Kyle Field College Station, TX These tickets are our personal tickets as season ticket holders, they are located in East Prime Bench 126
Row 10 Seat 6,7,8,9 NOTE they are expensive seats ($200 Each) | will post available games & feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions

That ticket exchange forum has really quality advice for avoiding scams. It includes a blacklist of known scammers. Do what investigating you can into the seller

Why would he "transfer" via Ticketmaster and post on Facebook rather than just selling the tickets on Ticketmaster directly? To me that has "scam" written all over it.

I apologize for not reading your post carefully. I think this is a scam because it would not make sense to "transfer" via Ticketmaster and post on Facebook rather than just selling the tickets on Ticketmaster directly.

If you are thinking about buying on the Texags ticket exchange, I can tell you that I've never had any issues buying tickets from someone with an ag tag. Years ago there were some scammers on there that weren't Aggies. If anything seems fishy just post on here again and ask.

There are numerous scam attempts on the TexAgs Ticket Exchange Forum when you're trying to buy tickets. Just be careful -- look up their history - how long they have been a member, Ag TAg, etc.

Both sides save on fees if you post and transfer rather than selling on Ticketmaster. So the seller would get a lot more cash and the buyer would also likely pay a little less doing it that way. The fees are ridiculous.

But I still think this is a scam 100%. No way anyone is selling Notre dame or Texas tickets for $200.

Edit: now that I re-read it, he may not be saying that he will sell for $200. He may be saying that he paid $200 per ticket and then he will give you the price that he is willing to sell for if you contact him (and that price may be $2k for the Texas game, who knows). Hard to tell. I would still likely stay away.

Even if it is legitimate, I think you misunderstood the price part. I think they are saying that these are $200 tickets face value (although the other scamm-y part is each game has a different cost depending on the opponent. They are not all $200) but they will be asking/getting market value for each game.

I wouldn't.

I have season tickets, and I don't even have the tickets in 12th Man mobile app to transfer yet...I'm not sure how anyone is selling them, Seat Geek won't even let me create a listing without the tickets to transfer
