He gets paid almost the listing price annually…in total comp that is.

"Knowing Gundy has a perpetual five-year deal with annual raises, here is what he's set to make, this year included:

2022: $7,500,000
2023: $7,625,000
2024: $7,750,000
2025: $7,875,000
2026: $8,000,000
Add it all together and that brings the total current value of Gundy's contract up to $38,750,000."

Was Jimmy Johnson recently seen in Stillwater talking to a realtor?

Somebody told him about a great investment opportunity involving a new Waffle House in C/S. Trying to get liquidity to go in.

Ugly inside and out. There's no accounting for some folks' taste.

I will say, if I had the money and success that dude has, I would have my house and property exactly how the f--- I wanted it. Zero f---s given for others who thought it was gauche, tacky or classless.

The mural of Toombs rumbling for the TD against OU that would surround my fireplace would please me greatly.

I don't know what you are talking about. I've never been near that house.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I get going with the mountain home vibe and such, but the design and decor of the interior is a bit much. Plus, if I had to clean those floors I would lose my mind. Too many grooves and impossible areas to keep clean.

That being said, if he and his family enjoyed it more power to them.

While I support what I was attempting to say in this post, I didn't say it well and came across (even in my eyes) as impudent and other things. Of course, no one -- rightly -- cares a fig about my impression of the Gundy's domicile. But while admitting that this is all in my mind, I feel I owe them a figurative apology for an unwanted figurative invasion of their space.

People love to knock other peoples homes they don't pay for, pay to clean, or live in.

While I haven't experienced it myself, I imagine one of the nice things about having FU money is you don't have to care what others tastes or opinions are. You can afford to design / build exactly what you want. They probably aren't worrying about maximizing resale like you or I in a mid range house. Taking a small loss (which I doubt) probably just helps him with taxes where you and I might need the maximum return for the next house.

And they'll just comfort themselves from the mean words on their yacht or one of their weekend houses / ranch.

Nope, when I see that run I never think "Oh, we lost that game". I always think it was one of the greatest touchdown runs I've ever seen at Kyle Field.

If you had "taste", the "way you want it" and good taste would coincide; you would be constitutionally unable to conglomerate a monument to ugly such as that. To the chagrin (if they ever know the difference) of countless victims, no amount of money can substitute for innate taste. And a lack of money cannot diminish it -- though lack of money
affects, quite often, the ability to express it as one
would like. The Gundy's have the first part covered but, sad to say, haven't a chance on the second.
There's really no polite way to say this and I'm really not trying to offend you.

This comment bugs the **** out of me and I can't quite explain why.

How does one even begin to try to sell an $8m home in Stillwater, OK?

It always amazes me when Aggies make comments like this.

It's basically between Tulsa and Oklahoma City and an hour to downtown for both. There's more than enough big money opportunities between the two. Not much different than expensive homes in Houston or Dallas suburbs.

Please tell me more about how the nicer real estate in Dallas and Houston is not much different than ....(checking notes) .... Tulsa and OKC.

Gotchya.
WE are the ignorant ones. We dummies should know that the expensive homes in Dallas and Houston are not much different than OKC and Tulsa.

I've spent time in all 4 cities ... and I cant disagree with you more.

There is no doubt in my mind that some OSU diehard with oil money is going to buy this place. But make no mistake about it, it is because of Gundy ... not because of the value of location-location-location being near the bustling metropolises of OKC and Tulsa.

no one going to buy this @ 8 million $. He or his realtor is out of their mind...try my be at best 2.5-3 million $ at the most or whatever their tax district's current tax rate...
