And it has begun before it even began. After the epic failure that was the lhn, and sip's subsequent destruction of the big12, they get rewarded with an invitation to our league and a massive payout on the way.

This is all the proof of collusion you need.

For all those who clamored for sip all those years, it's time to lie back in the bed you made. For the rest of us, cfb is another step closer to it's deathbed.

I don't want to be that guy but, we told you so.

Can't blame all the younger Ags that think us older ones are just crazy/overly sensitive. They've never experienced it, how could they understand?

But unfortunately, they are about to find out that we aren't crazy and we know of what we speak.

They will destroy this conference, too. They are a malignancy and their arrogance knows no bounds.

I totally an agree with you. It won't take long after they're actually playing in the league before they start demanding things on their terms. They'll do the SEC just like they did the BDF and the old SWC. They're a cancer that just can't be cured.

They are already one of the four marquee teams being promoted by Sankey and the sec.

This was all being hammered out behind the scenes when we originally sat at the table to see which conference would be permitted to join us.

Stop making stuff up, you whiny exaggerator.

They are getting paid to let ESPN out of a contract early where they were owed future revenue, but the much much much bigger number is that TX is forgoing their SEC share for 2024-2025. So this just to help bridge that gap.

How is this in anyway a massive payday????

And the old 14 teams get more money, because ESPN is paying a pro rata increase to the league for the 16 teams, but it only has to be split 15 ways.

Maybe try understanding what you read, instead of looking for ways to be victimized.

You are 100% correct with your assessment.

However, the 'sips will always be the turd in the punchbowl and an entitled cancer in whatever conference they're a part of. While this particular instance isn't some "Texas gets everything they want" conspiracy, it won't be too long before the Horns come in and crap all over everything. It's what they do.

They will struggle on the field in the 3 major sports. There is a big difference in quality of opposition in football and baseball. They will not enjoy road trips. Dont be surprised if they end up moving again.

The guy read the headline, didn't read the story, and ran to TexAgs to complain about it.

Why do so many Ags have the victim complex that everyone is out to get them?

This would fall under the wishful thinking category...They are way better prepared to enter the SEC than we were, we just got beyond lucky that #2 was in the locker room.

I dont think this is true at all. Their situation seems to mirror our arrival into the SEC in all three sports. Good football team with a strong OL and talent at quite a few positions against a manageable schedule. Baseball and basketball have talent and will be middle of the pack at worst, no different than us.

15 was a typo.

ESPN is paying us for 16 teams from Sept 24 to Aug of 25.

Texas/OU aren't getting shares until Sept 2025

So the 14 teams are going to make 14.3% more on ESPN money we otherwise would have.

And here come the sip apologists defending them every step of the way.

What's so hard for you to understand? Sip selfishly launched their own network to the detriment of the big12 that subsequently was an epic failure, yet they face zero repercussions as Disney pays them out for their failed network that nobody but folks like you had any interest in.

It was Disney that got sip into our league to recoup their poor investment and help keep sip afloat. And sip not only escapes unscathed, but benefits even more with ESiPN paying them out.

Sip should've been trapped in their contract agreement and should not be allowed to recover any costs associated or gaps bridged with their failed experiment.

But sure, keep defending sip at every turn.

Nobody is defending them. ESPN had a contract with Texas for LHN. ESPN broke that contract, so they are paying them their buyout. It's just how contracts work, it's not some grand conspiracy.

Read the article that was posted it's really not that hard.

The other point that is lacking understanding, ESPN was losing money on the LHN so they broke the contract. It's a great business move on their end.

We certainly had a more difficult schedule with Florida, Alabama, and LSU all winning 10+ games. La Tech was a 9 win team that was 3 plays away from being 12-0, Miss State was a good 8-4 team. Ole Miss was a good but young 7-5. Arky, Missouri, and Auburn were awful.
Compare that to Texas and what looks to be a really strong Georgia, very talented A&M, very inexperienced but talented Michigan, good Kentucky team, then complete mess Miss State, Florida, Vandy, Arky, and OU. Texas is poised to win 10+ games in 2024. Doesn't mean they are a great team, just means they have a manageable schedule, return a very good OL and good QB which makes football easier. Their challenge is replacing most of a strong front seven and their DC (who worked magic) along with replacing uber talented skill guys at all 3 WR spots, tailback, and TE. They replaced everything on offense with portal guys except RB, that's a big jump for those portal guys.
I don't recall a time when the SEC had some many teams in complete disarray like we are seeing with Florida, Miss State, Vandy, Arky, and to an extent OU. These teams were gutted by the portal.

I hate that Texas is in our league now, but it was going to happen regardless. What's happening in CFB is a momentous shift where 30-40 teams are going to leave the rest behind. There will be the B1G and the SEC. They will form their own league and the terms will be dictated by the stronger conference. Just like the NBA/ABA. Just like the NFL/AFL. If the SEC wants to dictates those terms in the near future, we needed Texas and OU. Just like we need Clemson, FSU, NC and UVA/VaTech. Just adding A&M and Mizzou was enough until it became obvious what the B1G was doing with the PAC. The SEC shouldn't just want the other 4 listed. They need to add them in order to have the upper hand in what's to come.

Had tu and ou gone the the B1G the year before, it would already be game, set and match. FSU, Clemson, et all follow and we eventually fall behind. Right now it's a balance and what happens with the big dogs in the ACC determines the final result. Are eventual new league offices going to be up north or in our region? Who will have the most weight in determining schedules? Essentially, who will have preferential treatment? That's what's at stake.
