All of the WR's they've lost and now the star QB recruit leaving is a little surprising considering DeBoer's reputation for good offense.

They went to Alabama for Saban. Not for Alabama. This is the evidence. Nowadays it doesn't make a difference which school. Just the coach.
Pretty sure someone who has an NIL deal can upgrade it......LB12Diamond said:Divining Rod said:

Definitely not a money move lmao….
Goat coach that recruited him retires as he enrolls and the new coach has the QB he personally recruited at his previous school get released from his NLI/portal to bama. Writing is on the wall that deboer doesn't see the same things saban saw in Sayin
He is transfering because deBoer brought Austin Mack with him from Washington. 4* class of '23.infinity ag said:Off_The_Wood said:

Except for LSU
LA talent stays in LA.
Do you really think he cares about his "look"?StinkyPinky said:Divining Rod said:

While thats a play for some of these guys, I don't think it's the default reason. Seems legit that he signed up to play for Saban, which is probably the motivator for many of their portal jumpers. Would be a really bad look to jump to the portal after being on campus only a few weeks just to get more money.

I don't thinbk it's about players not buyiong into Deboer as much as they just wanted to play for Saban and now that he is gone they realize they are stuck in Alabama without Saban there instead being somehwere they'd really rather be.StinkyPinky said:Lilbill20 said:

Agreed, think this one is pretty obvious. Not sure its so much DeBoer not seeing the same potential in Sayin (seems pretty universal in his high potential expectations), but interesting to see if its the reverse and players aren't buying into DeBoer. His record to date indicates that they should, but maybe there is more info in the football circles regarding concerns about DeBoer. Who knows. Curious if Bama is surprised by the number of jumps. Obviously it is expected to happen, but wonder what the over/under expectations were by Bama.
