I was like, "are you freaking kidding me"? Just curious.

In 5 years, Stoops will have a better record at Kentucky than Elko at A&M

It was my idea, alright???? What are you gonna do, sue me?
*ftr, I still lean towards believing that was just part of the smokescreen games thrown up by agents and freelance reporters desperate for scoops. I'm skeptical that anything real was happening on our end. I think Elko was always the moneybags choice. JMO.

This. Also his offenses have struggled at Kentucky and we couldn't do that again right after Jimbo.TX_Aggie37 said:
He would have done a fine job here. But I think the issue most folks had with it was the perception of his limited ceiling. He's been a head coach for a long time, and has very little to show for it besides a couple 10 win seasons at Kentucky. Most folks were much happier with the younger, though unproven, coach in Elko who might be able to ignite a fire under this program.
Elko has done and said all the right things to this point. We'll see how it translates to the field.
He is a defensive-minded HC. So is Elko. Given Elko, Jimbo, and Mark, which of these is not like the others???boyfriend said:This. Also his offenses have struggled at Kentucky and we couldn't do that again right after Jimbo.TX_Aggie37 said:

Yes Mark Stoops unfortunately for Kentucky falls into the conservative offense defensive coach bucket. You cannot win the big games playing this style of offense. Mike Elko does not. He understands it takes a dynamic offense to win championships in this era of CFB. I'm excited to see what Collin Klein can do with the offense next season.greg.w.h said:He is a defensive-minded HC. Now look at Sumlin and Sherman and compare to Jimbo…which of those offensive-minded HCs was not like the other? If you say they were the same that's just false. Try again.
