He was cleared to play this year the last few games but he made the choice on his own not to play.

What would you call that?


You say he's making choices to help his future of getting a high draft pick and being successful in the NFL. Well his two choices above are doing the exact oppo for him in that regard.

And I don't wish it on him. I wish he would rise above what ever demons he's dealing with that are hurting him.

I know Jimbo did not meet our expectations here.

But how in the world can you say he failed Evan? Evan was starting and given opportunities to showcase his talent. Jimbo wasn't out there dropping passes, running laterally not picking up much needed first downs, skipping countless games.

Love me some Evan Stewart hype. Is not big, fast, strong, cant jump out the gym, and doesn't have great hands but boy can he run great (allegedly) routes! My eyes told me he was nothing special and his production (lack thereof) will be easily replaced. Laughable that people claim he is most talented WR since Evans.

Jimbo's offenses have always been RB friendly -- his RB's are the stars going back to Devonta Freeman, Dalvin Cook, and Trayveon / Spiller / Achane

In high school there was the "all show no go award". It would go to the guy who put z28 bling on a regular camero and thought nobody would know.

He was good of course, but not nearly as good as his rating indicated.

Have we really had any great receivers under Jimbo? I have to think it's more of a scheme/coaching issue than anything else. Hard to judge Evans until we see what he can do at Oregon. Let's not be that fan base that trashes anyone who chooses another school. It's his future and he's trying to make the best decision for him.

4 games with over 100 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns in two years, what about that is elite?

Maybe he does better without Jimbo as his coach, but show it to me first before calling him elite

let's go back to the 2021 season.

the top 4 players in receptions for A&M:

1. Ainias with 47 catches
2. Wydermyer with 40
3. Spiller with 25
4. Achane with 24

where are the WR's? An elite WR should never commit to a program with that kind of pass distribution

by contrast...

in the 2013 season -- the top 4 pass-catchers were all WR's:

1. Evans with 69 receptions
2. Kennedy with 60
3. Walker with 51
4. Labhart with 51

now that's a WR-friendly offense

This 100%. He made some nice catches, but he looks nothing like a first rounder

The Texas Aggies have had a number of excellent WRs that are currently playing in the NFL including Mike Evans, Christian Kirk, Josh Reynolds who are a lot more talented that Stewart. With his lack of size and speed he projects to be a mid round pick who will likely end up playing special teams as a rookie. Which current Texans receiver, for example, would he beat in a competition for a roster spot? None is the right answer.
