It is if you actually beat more than one good team. I just went back and looked at your schedule. Holy moly. So so pathetic.

You played 3 good teams all year. And went 1-2.

Michigan's schedule was also very bad. They only played 4 good teams. But they actually went 4-0 against them.

Baylor, Wyoming with back up QB, TCU, Rice, Tech, UH with help from refs, BYU, KSU - thanks to them missing an extra point , Kansas with back up QB.

This schedule reminds me of A&M winning the SWC in the early 90s and losing in the Cotton Bowl.

Sip I have no problem giving credit where credit is due. But your team beat one good team.

Now go along and live in your false reality.

The funniest part of it all, your team choked in the sugar bowl. Penalties, fumbles, bad coaching, Ewers has average Ewers or you could have at least won a playoff game. But your team choked. You got handed the game being in the sugar bowl so had the home field advantage playing Washington. The final was in Houston. It was all set up perfectly. All you had to do was beat your second good team of the year. But you did not.

Bad teams brag about being top 5 when they don't deserve it. Good teams are actually mad they are not better bc they want more. I don't see Bama or Georgia bragging about being top 5.

What do you think people on here would have done if we made it in 2020? Texas at least almost won, we would have been blown out by Bama

Bama was a great team that year. Maybe the best team of the past decade.

I sure as heck would not be bragging about it on a rivals site.

The sips amuse me. They will get back ti reality next year. Maybe

In my Aggie Dad Sip Common Sense Poll, 100% of voters (me) ranked Texas #5 behind Georgia and Florida State but ahead of Alabama.

1. Michigan Astros
2. Washington
3. Georgia
4. Florida State
5. Texas

Michigan, Washington, Georgia and FSU all had more wins than Texas, and Texas had the head-to-head over Alabama with the same record. Liberty also had 13 wins but c'mon, it's Liberty. This ain't brain surgery. However, the AP voters most likely ranked the playoff teams 1-4 and then everybody else, which is reasonable but not particularly accurate.

But realistically, who gives a Schmidt? Well…us apparently. A final poll is meaningless except for the meaning we fans assign to it, which judging by this thread is a lot.

1) your common sense means nothing here. It's meaningless.
2) go find a good circle jerk on OB. You'll get the affirmation you're looking for.

"Same from here….. strong game ags!

Hookem UT class of 86!"

Also, Texas did nothing special this year. Won ONE game against a good team. We have done that several times in just the past few years.

But we haven't won a conf championship or had a one loss season.

And therein lies the difference. In those years we won against a good team, we lost more than one game and were never in contention for any type of hardware.

Ok let's break this down.
1) UM (Duh)
2) UW (also duh)
3) horn (hard to put Bama here since they played and horn won.)
4) Bama (See horn loss)
5) UGA (could be the best team ever to be left out but those are the breaks for playing in the SEC)
I understand your rank if the playoff committee is ranking but we are talking AP poll.

Why is a 12-2 Texas team ranked above a 13-1 Georgia team in the AP poll?

The AP poll isn't strictly about records. It's the most bias of all the polls out there because of who votes. And there have been plenty of occasions where teams with worse records were ranked above teams with better records, this isn't some groundbreaking new phenomenon here.

I'd imagine it's because a whole lot of AP voters came to the conclusion that a team that made the playoffs should, by default, be ranked ahead of any team that didn't. Don't get me wrong, UGA got absolutely screwed in the polls when they lost the CCG, but that wasn't in the control of the AP voters.

I guess it's too hard for you to see that winning the Big12 last year was nothing special.

FYI, you cannot win the SEC beating only one good team.

So what Texas did was nothing special. Their season was not any different than our 2020 season. Except our loss was against the best team in a decade. Their loss was against a 3 loss OU. And They lost their big game against Washington and were not ready for the game.

Appreciate the response and agree with parts of it. But we aren't talking about just some random team who got surpassed by a team with a worse record.

Georgia was the 2-time defending national champion. They were 42-2 in their last 3 seasons combined! And barely lost the one game this year.

Even a biased AP voter shouldn't be so bold to rank a 2 loss tu team over a 1 loss Georgia team this year.

At least Plano guy gets it and makes fun joking posts on here.

Why is he here? It's what they do. There is literally no other fan base in America more insecure and concerned with what others think of them than sip. They can't stand it when everyone else doesn't buy into their own "superiority" narrative they've created for themselves.
