False. No money from TMF or athletic department budget can fund NIL.rootube said:
Yes, if by "killing it in NIL" you mean raiding the piggy bank to pay off Jimbo. We have killed it.

Why would any successful business person throw good money after bad at a poorly run organization with a bunch of entitled brats that don't give a **** about the school or its fans and is looking for the next big paycheck regardless of what school it comes from?

I mean, it's not an unreasonable concern. Everyone was popping off about how we had a really good NIL game going for a while, and now everyone in the know is trying to brush that under the rug now.
It would be nice to get some insight into why we're struggling in this area more than we expected.

Considering e stew said he never got a penny, I'd say no, not killing it

We spent millions on a bad coach and a selfish roster. Dont blame a few for holding on to their checkbooks until we see what Elko can do.
We spent like drunken trophy wives and got nothing but selfish; me-first players and a cancerous locker.
Lets see what a team first locker looks like for a change.

Because if they don't, who will? Every major university has boosters in the same situation. tu won't stop, if our BMA's don't do it we're screwed.

I mean, is it unreasonable to believe that big 12th Man Foundation donors are also big NIL funders? And that if the 12th Man Fdn asked for a lot of money to pay off the old coaching staff that these people said, "okay but that means less to the NIL."12thMan9 said:Don't confuse the morons w/facts.greg.w.h said:False. Serious question.
It's not dead. The student athletes deserve at least as large a share of the revenue as the coaches if not half. The bowl games need fewer restrictions on payments to lock in players that extend beyond base NIL. Or there needs to be a collective bargaining agreement that supports contracts.cavjock88 said:TexasAggie_97 said:

This times 1000. NIL and the new Transfer Portal have killed college football in very short order. Use to be a semblance of the college athlete beforehand. Now it isn't even close. It's semi pro ball now with cash buying your team every year and talent being sought with no expectation of school loyalty. Instead of MLB minor league teams in smaller cities you have NFL semi pro teams at colleges, at least for the FBS division. Only difference is the colleges don't have direct NFL team affiliations. I no longer have any expectation that those on the gridiron that happen to be wearing an Aggie uniform have anything remotely in common with the eight gentlemen on the Northeast hallway of the MSC.

So hold your checks and lose stars in recruiting, including a loss to Auburn for crying out loud. And lose starters and major contributors in the portal.
I don't care who the coach is, you have to have talent to win.
Ridiculous!
I think this will somewhat put a small hold on NIL in the future. Eventually people get tired of spending money on players only for them to leave after a year or 2 in the portal.OBJTEX said:

Let's not make a judgment on this till we see 2025 recruiting. Logic says we have cleared a lot of money off the books with the transfers out so there should be money to spend.
How did Ol' Miss gain their hard core fan and "player loyalty" base so quickly?TexasAggie_97 said:

We're doing a great job of paying our players.
Not so much coaching them.
