I am a San Francisco 49ers fan, but I am glad the Detroit Lions gave Dan Campbell time to turn around the team. After the Detroit Lions started 4-19-1 (3-13-1 in 2021 and 1-6 in 2022) in Dan Campbell's first 24 games, they have been a remarkable 19-6 (8-2 in 2022 and 11-4 in 2023) since. As a result, the Lions have won a division title for the first time since winning the NFC Central in 1993 and the NFC North, which formed in 2002, for the first time ever.

I don't have a problem with what he said. I just assumed it was long forgotten and would not be viewed positively for Campbell in today's world. I didn't realize he took heat for it way back in the 1990's and just recently in the last 5 years.

That comment shouldn't be a big deal, but in today's politically correct world, people get "cancelled" for stuff like that.
