This is the world college football is now with NIL and transfer portal. Until they have some actual rules in place to prevent this kind of thing its only going to keep happening.

The way it is now, until proven otherwise you can assume any highly rated recruit playing for us is doing so purely for what they think they can get out of it. If they think they'll be better of elsewhere, or if a coach hurts their feelings, or wind blows on em the wrong way, it's to the portal. We'll always have a core of guys who actually love everything being an Aggie means, but it's hard to tell who that is until they earn their ring. Just the way it is now.

It's really difficult to be a fan when non blue blood teams are able to get talent through NIL/market value and those teams aren't capped. There are institutional advantages that are being completely disregarded by this whole process.

With the new " Musical Chairs " game with Players, I think the quality of coaching is going to become more and more important.

Like it or not, the Engineering School HAS been drastically increasing enrollment numbers just like the rest of the university. We are still ranked highly in engineering (second in Texas), but the ridiculous growth goals are counter productive..

Erob was asked to stay and given the opportunity to write his check. He declined...he was not fired. The rebuilding is a BS cop-out-built-in excuse. Nolen is going to the portal king, new scheme, new coaches, and new players and having to learn a new system.

Reality. The new staff will have to prove itself. I think the lack of a big splash hire and the lack of big names in the NIL will eventually cool down, but remember we are dealing with young people that are very impressionable.

Almost every natty-winning HC was "unproven" until they got their HC gig.

Bad statistic. I teach high school seniors. Most of them know not to even apply. Only the best even go through the application process. We are not a diploma mill. To say so is foolish.

What's a good statistic?

I mean it's a misleading statistic. If you look at that casually you would think that 63% of seniors get in. I am saying that only the top end of seniors are even applying. Average and below average students aren't even wasting their time to apply because they know they stand no chance of getting in.
