Event vs Pattern. This class size and the attrition from the previous cycle or two will have an immediate impact on quality of depth; but. it should be viewed as an event. I believe next year will determine if there should be any alarm bells ringing.

To be clear…we took a significant step back on coaching spend. So expecting a huge improvement this year…when Jimbo could have finally pulled the pieces together…seems unlikely. But I'd love to be pleasantly surprised with a lower seed CFP invite.

It is because we have a small class with 3 Top 50 national guys and 1 Top 100. The 3 Top 50 guys havent signed yet. If we keep those 3 guys, we will have an elite per recruit rating (if we don't bring in other, lower rated guys).

We should actually want that number to come down a bit because it would be good to sign everyone and pull in some other recruits (which will almost certainly pull the number down).

It's Christmas season. I'm happy with our results. Results? Yes, those who haven't signed DID commit to us...NOT somebody else. Be happy!! What exactly does all the b****ing, moaning, whining and nay saying achieve? Make you feel better, smarter? Sad to say, it doesn't make you look better or smarter.

It's more likely that any step back would be the result of installing a new offense.

Craig and Addazio were not worth half of what they were getting. Bobby helped but was not utilized in a way to warrant a full salary. Although he probably deserves double for having to deal with Fisher.

Jimbo was worth about 2-3MM considering he had a losing season that was part of how many road loses?

...and now we know he was too dimwitted to understand the importance of developing relationsships with Texas High School coaches. Jimbo was pulling anything together.

I think there is a FAR better chance we put the pieces together next year under Elko than the 7th year with Fisher. In fact, I'm sure of it.

And what does dollars spent have to do with it? we have a much better staff than this past year, and the cost is just. a side benefit.

OP, if we can close the deal on those last few commits this is a nice class and Elko and his staff even brought in a few guys that no one is excepting. I think we'll be just fine moving forward. I'm really looking forward to see the new offense.

The coach we wanted from UW has the 36th ranked class? And he was too busy to want to interview? A lot of people said he wouldnt want to come to a lesser program. He can't recruit. He must be coaching with someone else's players.

Yep, coaching spend was the problem. We were .500 in years 5 and 6 of the Jimbo era because we just weren't spending enough on coaching.
