How many more years is our program tied to the inferior Adidas brand? Their designs are lacking. Politics aside, Nike is far cooler than Adidas could ever dream of being. It's like Walmart vs Dillards in my opinion. I prefer Nike stuff all day long as an athlete.

This again? Adidas is what every school wore before Nike started paying them to switch.

How 'bout a thread on the real shame of the department... Pepsi products?

Are we every school? No! We're superior! The swoosh is far superior imo. Adidas is so boring!

Adi das created a global co, nike is mainly in the US.

Exact same stuff made in the same 3rd world country.

Friend of mine at Walmart once told me they sourced their Walmart athletic wear same place as Nike!

Only difference is the brand bro, hate to break it to you!!!

In 10 years of the CFP, not a single adidas school was selected.

So yea, until A&M crawls back to Nike, we will continue to be a second rate athletic department.

Walk into any college rec center in the country, and tally the shoes.

Adidas Boosts will win in a landslide every time.

Sorry you're out of touch with what kids actually like.

A lot of people including tons of young people. You lost a lot of credibility with the UA comment as well. UA sucks in general and good God their football uniforms are awful. Not even in the same stratosphere as Nike and Adidas.

Adidas is a global company and Nike is mainly the US? Try again. Nike revenue is $45 Billion and Adidas revenue is $25 Billion. Nike has about 1/2 their revenue in the US while Adidas is about 1/4, but Nike still has more non US revenue than Adidas.

I don't care who our apparel sponsor is. I assume it just goes to the highest bidder. However, why say something that simply isn't accurate.

Yes, let's wear something because it's cooler. You must be the best "athlete" then.

Because American ghetto kids are the only ones willing to pay hundreds of dollars for shoes that are cool but not better.

Washington is an Adidas school so that streak will be broken.

Adidas has almost 1/3 of the FBS market, and 17% or so of the Power 5 as of 2021 (the date of the linked article).

Adidas Division I FBS Schools (37)

  • Arizona State, Arkansas State, Central Michigan, East Carolina, Eastern Michigan, FAU, FIU, Georgia Southern, Kansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Louisville, Massachusetts, Miami (FL), Miami (OH), Mississippi State, NC State, Nebraska, Nevada, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Rice, Rutgers, San Jose State, South Alabama, South Florida, Southern Miss, Texas A&M, Texas State, Troy, Tulsa, UTSA, Washington, Western Michigan, Wyoming
. . .
Amusingly Adidas has implemented a "caste" system according to this uni blog/article.

https://uni-watch.com/2023/07/05/exclusive-adidass-caste-system-for-college-football-uni-templates/

Quote:

. . .
In other words: Texas A&M, Washington, and four other schools are part of Adidas's tippy-top caste and get the best treatment, which is why we've seen the Aggies and Huskies in the newest template. Meanwhile, Indiana, Rutgers, and five other schools are part of the next caste.
. . .
Fun rabbit hole.
