During that run OU was good and Tceh was respectable
Very rarely are tu OU & the Ags all good at the same time

Similarly Miami FSU & UF are all good at the same time

All male until the 60's. Longhorns on tv since the 50's. A&M had to wait until what the 80's or only when A&M played the Longhorns?

They played game number one in Austin. What game number did they first play in College Station?

Stacking the deck since 1894.

Yes. We are confessional and hold strictly to the 39 Articles..
We are happy to be called "Bible Thumping" Anglicans.

If Rockwall is not too far from you or you ever find yourself in the area on a weekend, then come meet me and visit with us for an historically based Christian experience.

Sunday:

9am Christian Education
10am Worship service

Saturday

9am Men's Bible Study

We meet next Saturday for Bible study and take off until the new year for Christmas family time and travel.

We are also only meeting on the 24th Sunday at 5pm and not 10am for candlelight service and liturgy (which means language of the people).

My name is Joshua. I'm not scared of giving out my name on here. Bring it. Hahah.

Everyone is welcome to all of these.

https://christchurchrockwall.org/

Would be cool to show up on the weekend after the tu game to help me rub it in in good fun.

I don't use tu because I feel that should be reserved for graduates of Texas A&M. Dad was class of 74'.

But that's just me. So don't get offended if I use Texas-Austin.

In other words, they are not all Texas.

Now…back to reading Wittgenstein's PHD Thesis.

Yes sir. I genuinely agree. They appear to have less common grace on campus than A&M, at least from what I observed when I lived in College Station the year when Bonfire Collapsed. I was directly across the street from it in what was then University Tower. I went to Blinn. Was not a good high school student.

But I submit that conservatives need to unite with conservatives from that other school in Austin for the common good, agreed?

Christ humbles us all.

It also ought to keep us from idolatry of our favorite college team…That's why priorities matter to this good "t-shirt" fan and that is why we must continually confess.

Plus, being among you Aggies is a blessing because there is more than sports to being a graduate of the tradition of Texas AMC.

We in the outer courts, so to speak, are apart of you as well.

It doesn't matter if some people don't see it that way.
I'm not going anywhere. And you have to have thick skin here.

We have a good chance of beating Texas at Kyle Field, but this year probably wasn't a great year to make that bet.

I agree with him that analytic philosophers' rationalism making A plus B equals q statements supporting moral subjectivity is self-defeating.

"In love. Abhor what is evil and cling to what is good." (Romans 12).

Just namely how all of the philosophical community contradict each other.

I question this whole idolatry thing: if you made an account here while admitting to being a t-shirt fan of the school with the hubris and attitude problem. You'll also be hard-pressed to find our t-shirt fans (if any) on texas forums. Yet the inverse is abound here.

I don't even wear A&M gear to Walmart anymore.
No issue with those who never attended A&M who do so.
But I don't like being called a t-shirt fan.
I'd rather be called an outer courts fan.

Only the Jews could enter the inner courts of the temple.
The non-Jews who feared YHWH had to stay in the outer courts.

And this is what the whole thing reminds me of…

Well, you know that Cramner and the other English Reformers inherited their stuff from Calvin. John Knox was a preacher in the Anglican Church (Church of England), then he left to start the Presbyterian Church in Scotland (Church of Scotland).

While the Congregationalist Puritans left for the new world in the 1620's, the English Presbyterian Puritans stayed in the Anglican Church until the ejection in 1662 and 1672.
But many of the best ones stayed and conformed. And all them had rather have preferred to remain as Anglicans than be Congregationalists.

The main differences between these three groups really boils down to church government style.

I have a really good letter (email) from Dr. Sinclair Ferguson (well known Spiritual leader in both the OPC and PCA//historic Presbyterian) explaining how many Puritans stayed in the Church of England (Anglican). I'll share it if you want me to do so.

I'm a former student of his.

And no the ACNA Anglican Church is not in communion with the Church of England. And my last name is Wallace. But I joined the Englishhahah

I'm finally going to successfully invade England.

Reverend Chris Richardson and his wife both graduated from Covenant Seminary (A PCA Presbyterian seminary). Fr. Chris did his PHD on the book of Hebrews.

I don't know. Things appear to be pretty rough wherever you go nowadays. Marxists have taken over.

But I have more hope for A&M reforming than for Texas-Austin.

I want A&M to win. But I'm a lifelong fan. I'm with y'all no matter what.

While tradition often needs to have small incremental ethical reforms (semper reformanda), there is no doubt that TRADITION plays a huge role in the beauty or aesthetics of a culture to both complement the enjoyment of participation in it and in order to strengthen and maintain its ethics by its function of community.

The philosophy of the university was invented from the foundations of the Trinity. That is the one in the many. The Trinity is the high point of Christian revelation. And we believe that the universe was created as a witness to God's image.

University needs to have unity in diversity. Hence the uni- and (d)-versity. The universe also reflects the Trinity likewise.

I submit that Christ centeredness best unites the diversity of study and best reflects the unity of the Trinity. For instance, the gospel truly unites the races into a most common brotherhood and sisterhood. For the Gospel is to the elect of every nation, tribe, and language.

But…one of the reasons that I do love the greatest public school in the entire country is because the old traditions of Texas AMC are a key part to the hinge upon which the whole turns. The other universities in this country just don't have this strength of a common bond.

I could talk about how the colors, the band's marching, the music, the duty to our country, and the liturgical chants are superior to other schools. The 42 dominos games played in fellowship is yet another good example. I love 42. My family always played 42 and sang hymns at Thanksgiving and Christmas Carols during Advent season.

Anyway, these are just some of the other things that surround the football program to which I will always admire the cause.

Thank you to Texas Aggies everywhere for allowing me to share.

All of Christ for all of life.

Why do people here think every Texas fan is a "t-shirt" one? As one of the largest schools in the country for decades now, there are a lot of Texas alumni out there and it is likely more than a few enjoy visiting TexAgs.

Hey Bevo,

Did your steer get the name Bevo from the beer brand or from A&M branding the steer with a 13-0?

Or in reality…is it a combination of both?

I've noticed that your school historians only mention the Bevo beer brand and not the fact that A&M caused y'all to name the steer BEVO.

Because I'm in line at Walmart and know that these people buying Longhorn t-shirts are likely not college material.

I've heard both versions of the story. Dunno, that was a really long time before I was born (and I am no spring chicken), so I just go by the lore like you do. I'm sure you like the A&M side of it better.

<shrugs> It's not like it is a big deal either way how Bevo got his name. 13-0, sure man. Go bonkers.
