Chappell was pretty damn good. Best corner we've had in a while. When he was out it hurt. Deuce was a little slow and undersized. He was probably our 2nd best corner, but limited. I thought he played hard.

Agreed. Chappell was a pretty solid corner the duration of his time here. Harmon would make a play here and there but overall can't say that one is a huge loss

This is the honest truth that most of you can't see. U only looked at firing Jimbo through tunnel vision. Just because the coach was here before doesn't mean they liked him. New coach comes in if they don't like what they see they leaving duh

Some of you people sit around waiting so you can be the first to post bad news and dunk on our university. Shame on all of you who do this. Has it ever hit you that maybe you are part of the problem and one of the reasons behind all of these transfers?

I've posted this before and will again. I'd trade the entire roster plus every commitment for the right coach. Is Elko the right coach? History says no because it is hard to find the right coach. Bob Stoops, Kirby Smart, Nick Saban and Lou Holtz completely turned those programs around in two years. Our roster is talented, but it we went 14-14 over the last two years with ZERO road wins and a home loss to App State with Devon Achane on our roster. At the end of the day, I have zero interest is having a minor league football team. It has not served us well over the last few years. Kids want to leave then show them the door and wish them well.

I think Chappel we could want back but he's one of the players mentioned as possibly showing up late to the meeting.


Harmon is replaceable. Now we just need to do it. Hopefully it happens this weekend.

Elko will not want to lose either player.

As far as players that took advantage of the last regime. That will not be allowed now or at any solid program that wins. If they want to leave to another place that does things wrong and continue losing, that's their choice. But Elko is not pushing anyone out that's want to do things the right way.

Some players are just like some kids. They will take advantage of a parent that lets them skate but also do what's right with a parent that does not allow it.

Like beating a dead horse…we are going to lose alot of players and probably gonna suck next year. Its a rebuild.m and it takes time to reset the program. Happens to almost every school with a new staff

This university is way bigger than the aggregate of all of these individuals leaving. The fact is Jimbo cost us a lot of games. Great guy, but he made terrible game day. Decisions on playcalling, on personnel and management. He needed to go good players will come in eventually. We sucked ever since we fired RC with an Occasional flash of something that could be potential

I see very few, if any, starters entering the portal from other teams. We are losing starters.

And before someonr posts a starter from another team, I did not say any.

I think making the 12 team watered down playoffs is a long shot, but I don't think we will end up 6-6. I think 8-4 is most likely with 7-5:and 9-3 both very real possibilities (I think the upside is more likely).

We have a relatively easy season. We avoid Alabama and Georgia who are just better. We avoid Ole' Miss.
Notre Dame seems like a wild card, but it is a home game for us. Who knows if Missouri will still be good. They probably just had an outlier season this year. Another home game. LSU will be favored, but at least it is a home game. Texas will be tough. It is a rivalry game, so anything can happen and it is at home. Everyone else we play sucked this year or is a cupcake.

Even with the talent loss, we should still be at least equal to everyone we play except LSU and Texas (not sure about Notre Dame) in terms of talent. The key will be whether Elko can utilize and develop that talent, unlike Jimbo.

Things do not look great, but I don't think the future is all doom and gloom unless we view the only measure of success being winning the SEC. I don't see that in the next few years.

So we have have gone from banging pots, to celebrating a firing, to celebrating a hiring, and now back to doom and gloom.

This started about six years ago with Jimbo. That man destroyed the value of this team.

Maybe look again drama queen.

We may be luck and they may be upgrades.

If Deuce comes back, he will be 3rd string at best after portal additions. If not, so be it.

3-Star quality guys, tbh. Chappelle played like a .91 or 92 type tho, and I watched less toward the end of this season bc Jimbo, but Deuce was a hair or more below that at least despite having high hopes for him out of HS.

Here's the thing. They may be back. They may not. Chappel has been a very solid player for us. So I doubt anyone is that much better if at all.
Deuce held he own pretty good as well this year. When they went out against LSU, that's when Daniels started lighting us up. When they did not play against Ole Miss. similar results all game. Those are just facts. I would not be bringing them up but you are the one acting like it is no big deal.

Let's say we get a couple of solid CBs in the portal. Well if we had our two best also stay that is depth you need in todays game. You should know this so I'm surprised you doing this.

I never said it's no big deal but they are replaceable and it looks like we are off to a good start. If we land both the CB I think we will we definitely upgraded. At this point it's still a big if. 1 looks likely but we have to land both to be an upgrade.

Until we land these guys Chappell and Harmon are big loses.
