The hemorrhaging of players validates my canceling of YTTV. It feels like the last straw and closing a final chapter on what I choose to spend time on.
I enjoyed watching Texas Aggies represent Texas A&M.
I have no interest in sacrificing time and money on entitled entertainers.
Of course my comments may be seen as a ridiculous exaggeration by some, but it's the same reason I haven't watched professional sports in over a quarter of a century.
We fired our coach and entire staff, how did you think this was going to go?
I've seen enough coaching changes to know what we're witnessing is very much influenced by changes such as the transfer portal.
My comments from another thread:
Between NIL, transfer portal, and the continual push towards an absurd realignment, my interest has waned to the point that I canceled YTTV. For the first time I was unaware of games being played on Saturdays as well as the recent CFP selection.
Maybe it's due to age and other priorities, maybe a sense of watching history repeat itself after 25 years of mediocrity and time spent on numerous games that weren't even entertaining, but I do believe watching players bounce around, over the top bidding wars, and to a lesser extent, even the Kyle Field presentation are unappealing to me.
Commercials, certain rule changes, and extensive time for reviews have also contributed to my increasing lack of interest in college football in general.
But I do not begrudge players having increased opportunities and earning their due.
I myself am just not interested in the direction college football as entertainment is heading. As times past, I may listen to the radio or check TAs when I simply want to see how the Aggies are doing.
