I've always favored the top 6 conference champions. If you want to get rid of rankings, then the top 6 can be determined by the records of the out of conference match ups.

…the comeback route is the most difficult to defend
But why limit it to 6 and not all the conferences? In this year's case, I would be excited to watch how Liberty or SMU could possibly match up with tu or Michigan. You might laugh at that matchup, but then at least the world would know and there would be no "what ifs"bmks270 said:

what if OSU beat tu in the big12 champ game? THey worthy of being in the playoffs in that garbage conference?saw em off said:
GET RID OF THE RANKINGS!!!!!
Playoff the conference champions (and maybe the runner-ups and maybe even a wild card) through the bowls.
Just like every other league does it (high school, NFL, NBA, MLB, etc)
First of all, Utah is not the runner up in the PAC12. It would be Wash and Oregon for this year. But in the SEC, yes, it would be who played in the SEC championship.WTJ said:
This is good until you have to let in say 9-4 Utah over 12-1 Georgia (if that happened)
Or 9-4 Utah over 11-1 LSU (if you went w/ the runner up thing)
Yes, remove the word "worthy" from the CFB vocabularyDimebagsGhost said:what if OSU beat tu in the big12 champ game? THey worthy of being in the playoffs in that garbage conference?saw em off said:
