That's a bit of a reach OP.

Jimbo did well recruiting out of state. It's possible that pissed people off but anyone angry at that needs to get over it. Until Bama, OU, OSU, etc stop raiding our state, we'll need help outside our borders.

Fisher recruited very well outside of Texas and I hope we continue because we've gotten good results. But Fisher inexplicably went for out of state prospects, in some instances, without offering higher rated prospects in state. The most obvious example was not offering Weigman or Klubnik because we were after a QB from Tennessee. Only after that fell through did we come back to offer the two in state 5 stars.

It was a consistent stream of things but here are three big ones.
1) when he first got here he immediately reached out to 7 on 7 coaches. That was a bit of a slap in the face to the high school coaches.
2) He did not have anyone managing the relationships with the Texas schools. Most schools have a hospitality position. he did not put any effort into it like other coaches do.
3) he no showed at the conference last year.

Have you met Jimbo?

Jimbo had no incentive to do anything other than take care of Jimbo. Guaranteed money by the tens of millions. And a high school coach conference was a bother. I knew right then that his work ethic was the lowest I've seen in a long time and would not get us to a championship. Shame on him and the ones that gave him a guaranteed extension.

I don't mind starting in State but it's getting difficult to get top flight defensive fronts in adequate numbers from Texas alone. With tu and OU having good years I would imagine it will be more difficult.

Someone on another thread said it was at the same time as Terry Price's funeral. Can someone confirm this?

The association executives will turn on Elko too when he doesn't support and follow their protocol, and our A&M recruiters develop direct one on one relationships with kids, coaches, and key influencers.

We have family friends in high school coaching who half heartedly support the association.

Jimbo did not have the THSCA on his Christmas card list.

If you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta acknowledge the THSCA.,

I don't care who you are, you better acknowledge them. His ego was would not let him do that.

THSCA haven't really ever done ANYTHING for A&M even when the HC prostrates himself for them.

You can blame one person for this.

Mike Leach

He was the first spread coach in this state at the college level and the TX HS Coaches and players loved the 7-on-7 offense it produced. But it's been mostly bad for linemen from this state. So the SEC teams have had a huge advantage against us because our QBs are always getting hurt behind poor OLines and the Defense hasn't made enough plays to get us wins on the road against good teams.

I thought the reason we spent millions on him was because he had experience with these details. The more I hear about him, the more I think he's lucky he wasn't fired with cause.

Jimbo didn't attend their conference because his son was having surgery that day.

It looks worse for THSCA to hold a grudge over someone prioritizing their family's medical needs than it does for Jimbo to miss a meeting.

Probably a multi day conference , possible he had a couple of things going on,

HS school FB coaches for the most part are little tyrants that want you to respect their authority

No showing was likely the most recent in a string of incidents where Jimbo was Jimbo-ing
