Firing Jimbo wasn't about winning or losing.

It was about getting rid of someone that many people hated and they hated him personally and passionately.

They knew it was the time because if he did win-out, they'd be stuck with him. Natty or Not... the pot-bangers wanted to oust him. And they did.

Having said that, Jimbo's biggest failure was not fixing the OLine by bringing in Transfers during the off-season. That led to continued risk to the QB.

But, now we can all see, even if Weigman were healthy up until the CCG, we'd have never made it in, anyway.

There was always going to be some turnover. This happens at every school, everytime there is a coaching change. Let Elko do his job.

No guarentees that this works out, but at least the decision making process appears to be based on unemotional, football logic.

It's amazing to watch the plays run by the top tier offenses this past weekend. They look nothing like what we've done in years.

Miami fired coach and poaches Oregon coach
Gators are bad Seminoles are bad tu is bad Auburn is bad and pig is bad
That record breaking class was not going to be the new Normal. The Ags are going to have to win with top 10 recruiting because we aren't going to be top 5.

Winning BIG is how you move into the top 5.

Wrong, I wanted him to be fired last year. I also put it in writing to the BOR with my name attached. The money would have been the same. Suffered through another bad year by keeping Jimbo.

Generally I'd agree with this. But how many QB's need to get injured (in consecutive years) before it's no longer just bad luck and likely something more?

Maybe if Jimbo knew how to run a good OL his antiquated offense might have looked just good enough to keep him around.

It was time. A&M wasn't getting any better and wasn't going to change for the btter because Jimbo refused to evolve. That is why Saban is the GOAT. He evolves and stays one step ahead of the game.

This was all about control. Can't ever have a coach with this much control that kicked out the money, Thete was a big fear Jimbo would win out. Elko won't require the control Jimbo had. Outside of winning titles there was going to be wasn't enough. But it really was about a hatred amongst the power Aggies against a coach with this much power.
