There have been plenty of posts since 2012 saying how much we don't care about Texas.

Texas dominated Oklahoma State from start to finish to win their 4th Big 12 Championship and their first since 2009. Texas has won 7 straight games to improve to 12-1, and their last 3 wins have been decided by 10+ points each. Also, Texas bookended their 28 years in the Big 12 by winning the Big 12 Championship in their first year in the Big 12 in 1996 and their last year in 2023. Oklahoma State overcame an embarrassing 33-7 home loss to 6-6 Sun Belt South Alabama on 9/16 and a 45-3 drubbing at Big 12 newcomer UCF on 11/11 to make their 2nd Big 12 Championship Game appearance in 3 years. I noticed a few other trends:

1. Quinn Ewers set a Big 12 Championship Game record with 452 passing yards and tied the Big 12 Championship Game record with 4 touchdowns.

2. Texas set a Big 12 Championship Game record with 662 total yards (464 passing and 198 rushing).

3. Texas will need some help to make the College Football Playoffs. Otherwise, Texas will be just the second 12-1 Power 5 champion to miss the College Football Playoffs and the first since 2018 Ohio State.

Plus, we do care what the 'sips do in the sense that we will be playing the orange and white in just under a year in the SEC.

Finally, most of us lurking in the Zoo are college football fans wondering which teams are going to play for the MNC.
