I just can't stomach the possibility of us basically being ahead of them for the last 12 years and then in the last year of the 4 team playoff they get in… especially after we got left out in 2020… would just rather avoid that all together

This is just an awful take. There is absolutely no way Bama gets in over Texas unless Texas loses tomorrow. Texas beat them at their house by double digits.

If FSU loses tomorrow, they're out. Michigan is not losing tomorrow.

"The Media" as you see it doesn't really exist.

The media is a collection of hundreds of writers and broadcasters all over the country, mostly regionally based, that have the same biases most of us do. The notion that there's some evil cabal of influential national media influencers that have sold their souls to Texas is ridiculous. If that were the case, Texas would be in the top four right now.

And if at least one of Michigan, FSU or Georgia wins, Texas is 100% out, regardless if they beat OK St. Y'all can rest easy. Texas will finish somewhere 13-1 or 11-3, won't make the final four, and still feel pretty good about the season.

And if a miracle occurs and they sneak into the playoffs, it's all gravy from there.

Bill, I'm actually laying out a perfectly reasonable scenario that should make you happy. Don't fight it. The playoff committee has as much respect for the Big 12 as you do. Theirs is no chance in heaven they put Texas in the playoff because they're afraid it will turn out like TCU last year.

Sure, for right or wrong, Texas is considered a brand in College Football. But it's been 14 years since they actually lived up to that reputation. They're not about to put Texas in the playoff over schools that have had more recent success. Enjoy it.

You can't be that delusional. If Texas wins and FSU loses, they would get in ahead of FSU. They definitely get in ahead of Ohio State. They may or may not get in ahead of Alabama.

It might actually be better that they get in and get smashed rather than being 5th with everyone thinking that they are actually good. After the playoffs, they could even jump someone in the final rankings which looks even better to top recruits.

A miracle doesn't really have to occur for this to happen. If FSU loses, and sips win, then sips are 100% in. FSU is down to their 3rd string freshman QB who has never started a game, there's a decent chance they lose against Louisville.
