Need Florida State to win in the event sips beat Ok State Saturday. Ohio State will get passed over. Any other scenarios?

The committee has a mess on its hands if Bama upsets UGA

A Michigan loss would likely get Texas in as well, but FSU losing is far more realistic than Iowa beating Michigan. That is the only other scenario that would almost guarantee Texas get in (assuming they beat Oklahoma State).

I think Georgia and Michigan are already in

hard to see UGA falling from #1 to #5 even with a loss to Bama

Bama needs a bunch of help to jump from #8 to #4

the sips at #7 have them blocked

#6 Ohio State has wins against:

#10 Penn State and #17 Notre Dame

that's a better resume than the sips...who just have the win over #8 Alabama and the win over #25 Kansas State on their resume

t.u. has played a rather soft schedule in the committee's eyes...which is why they are still stuck at #7

Last year committee had tosu and Michigan both in....they won't do the same this year if Texas is sitting there with one loss. Same thing if Oregon beats Washington and UW has only one loss to a top 3 team. Committee is going to avoid 2 teams from same conference
The big question is what happens if FSU wins. Do they still put Texas in? I don't think they will but a lot of folks saying they need to put 4 BEST teams in and FSU with backup QB isn't one of the best. BUT in my opinion that argument would then open the door for Alabama. BC one could easily say bama now is not the same team that Texas beat and meanwhile Texas has barely beaten a couple crappy teams so as of now bama is one of the best

As much as I hate to say it, horn deserves the spot over OSU if they beat OKST. Conference champion plus a win in Tuscaloosa is way better than OSU's resume.

quit being Pollyanna and realize that ESPN wants Texas in the playoffs. None of your logical stuff matters when it comes to dollars and eyeballs.

Yet somehow last week they were at #9 SOS

Call me crazy but I don't think their schedule is even within 15 of reality

I doubt they'll mind letting both in if UGA loses a close one.

FSU is the odd man out due to the ACC. They wouldn't be favored against any of the other teams still in the mix.

The sips are in if they win. No way the committee screws them.

*Derp. If Bama wins that might mean no sips. The meltdown would be glorious.

Texas will get screwed by the committee. The committee already favors Ohio st. If Washington and FSU win then there's no chance for the sips even if Georgia loses.

Wake me up the day sip gets screwed by anyone. That'll be the day.

They don't even deserve to be #7 with that pitiful schedule. Jimbo would've gotten another extension if we played their weak ass schedule.

SEC winner is in
P12 winner is in
Michigan is in (no way they lose to Iowa)

The only chance sips has is FSU losing to Louisville. If they do sneak in and face UGA, it will be destruction comparable to TCU last year.

The sip whining about the rankings is not justified at all. They have one good win all year, and they lost to the only other good team they played. The BDF is basically the American this year, so they simply don't have a strong-enough resume overall. It's not that complicated. No one should be handed a playoff spot based on one game. The entire body of work should matter.

I'll be here for the final ranking. They won't be in unless something absolutely chaotic happens

Yeah Georgia would be favored by maybe -5.

sips would keep it very close

I don't know what sites you frequent but the closest Vegas Power ranking I've seen would have it -9. Some would have it as high as -12.

Backup qb or no backup qb, an undefeated power 5 team would not get left out

Thats why sips are still at 7 even after OSU lost

Just need fsu, Georgia and Michigan to win to make sure no sips

The sips play in a G5 conference, and they even struggled in some of those games. If you're objective, it's not hard to see they aren't one of the 4 best teams. But like we found out in 2020, somebody has to be #5. Sorry not sorry. Should've beaten OU.

the sips are also being hurt by:

7-point win over UH (4-8)

and

3-point win over TCU (5-7)

both in the second half of the season

The sips were lucky to get favorable calls (and favorable spots) against Cougar High. They could have easily lost that game if it was reffed properly.

But they are good this year. If they win Big 12 title game convincingly, it would not surprise me for them to force their way in.

Interesting title.

To have one knocked out, one has to be in first.

7 is not in.

Conference strength is pretty even across the board for power 5 this year.

Each conference is represented well w its top tier for the first time since I can remember in playoff era.

The b12 is absolute **** this year. Their supposed strength of schedule is also ***** That's why they are ranked where they are. Their loss is also worse than tOSU and Oregon.

I hope Georgia, Michigan, Washington, and Florida State become undefeated 13-0 Power 5 conference champions to keep Texas out of the College Football Playoffs.

This is FSU or Texas. That's the only question.

If both lose is when it could get interesting. I would guess OSU slots in. Georgia if they lose.

no chance undefeated FSU is left out, especially after tOSU won it on their 3rd string QB in 2014
