Stoops' salary at UK = $9M
Elko's salary at Duke = $3.5M

Pretty clear difference when you're a buyer.

Probably true, but Elko is younger and cheaper with a higher potential for greatness. We all know who stoops is and that is not a championship winner.

Both are infinitely better choices than promoting a position coach who was part of the previous failed regime.

Elko inherited a team and had them playing above their talent, until his qb(s) got hurt, he's on qb3 currently.

Stoops took over a team that sucked and continue to suck in the SEC east when Scar was on the downhill with spurrier and after he retired, UF / TN we're in no mans land, and UGA was Mr reliable 8-9 win team.

Stoops has shown you who he is with plenty of data. He has topped out.

He coached under Jimbo for all of 4 seasons after stops at Wake Forest and Notre Dame. I don't know that that makes him a "Jimbo man".

I'm not rooting for Elko, but we could do worse. He will upgrade the talented defense and be easy to cut loose if he flounders.

The key will be who he brings in for OC and if he lets him really cut loose.

Elko has proven he can recruit at the level we need. Stoops has not. Big difference.

Has he^ didn't recruit much at A&M.
