Seriously. 4 years OJT for our Saban vs 4 years of sub-Stoops is pretty much a wash

It seems like such a brutally obvious plan moving forward.

Gonna be a Dan Lanning situation - he's gonna get hired somewhere and kill it, then we won't have the opportunity to hire him.

Our AD office needs to get their heads out of their a** and realize that an up-and-comer is an option instead of trying to poach old washed up head coaches

Not ready for head coach position. Already has been eliminated, give it up

A&M uppers are afraid of the optics. They think A&M should only hire a guy with HC experience. As if there is some proof that it's the only way to go.

Schumann on the cheap, compared to current HCs, with a 5-year contract.

Here's what Sark got.

"$5.2 million for the 2021 season. After the 2021 season, his salary would increase each year by $200,000 until the final year of his contract, which is currently 2026. To this logic, that would put his contract for this season at $5.6 million.

The Texas Tribune added some more incentives and insights into what Sarkisian's deal included outside of his base salary. His deal also includes the following incentives:
  • Two car dealerships
  • 20 hours of private airplane use per year
  • $250,000 relocation and temporary housing allowance"

Just make it similar and be done with this crap. It shouldn't be this hard.

Do your job, Bjork.

Go get the guy that comes from the two most winning cultures.

Why is he not ready? Genuinely curious why you think that.

Here are some coaches in the hunt for playoffs:

Georgia - Kirby Smart (no HC experience before UGA)
Ohio State - Ryan Day (no HC experience before Ohio State)
Washington - Kalen DeBoer (2 years HC experience at Fresno)
Oregon - Dan Lanning (no HC experience before Oregon)
Texas - Sark (Needed Saban's HC rehab program)
Michigan - Harbaugh (NFL experience)
Florida State - Norvell (HC experience with Memphis)

These are the same people who determined Mark Stoops was ready for this job. I wouldn't trust their decision making skills

Says who, Smart? The guy who wants him around for the playoffs? Bjork, who was looking at Stoops and Traylor?

The only person who knows if Schumann is ready or not is Schumann. If in fact, he is not ready get him the best publicist to help with the media and get Bjork to back him up when BMAs and fans act like BMAs and fans.

We aren't in a win now situation. If you don't get him now, you won't have the opportunity in the future. If Stoops was even considered, we're so far down our list that he should absolutely be considered.

Texags is the only place that feels he's ready.
As typical, of course we'd know better than anyone else.
Including the coaching circles.

Harbaugh had lots of college experience.

And every one of them had experience as the sole coordinator. Not co-coordnator with a more experienced guy helping them.

I do like the idea of going a different route, but I would rather they have some experience producing at a program that doesn't have a huge talent advantage in most games.

Hartline has the same "issue", but he is at least the lone OC this year and he has a lot skins on the wall as a high-level player and has been around NFL staffs. For that reason I like Hartline over Schumann if you want to roll the dice on a young coordinator.

I think Schumann could be a good option if we were willing to suffer through a few years of growing pains. I think he has an incredibly high long-term ceiling, and we'd get in at the ground floor.

I also think our fans and admin are both short-sited and instant gratification oriented, and would lose it if he didn't win 10+ games next year

Dabo had never been a coordinator before becoming the head coach of Clemson. He accomplished more than our POS program will ever dream of doing. Clemson was the biggest joke in football before he turned them around. Now he uses us for raises.

We deserve everything we get in the media, and I am so happy the marks who thought Josh Pate wasn't lying to their faces are getting their just-desserts as well.

All you need to know is that everyone at UGA is holding their collective breath hoping he stays. (I admit to slightly exaggerating. But you get the point.)

Here's a list of assistants with no head coaching experience:

- Kirby Smart (he was my #1 choice in 2011...not Sumlin...how'd that work out?)
- Dan Lanning (Oregon says hello)
- Dabo Swinnney (Assistant before becoming HC...never HC before)
- Lincoln Riley (Assistant before becoming HC...never HC before)

This is why we are constantly in this predicament...people in charge of Aggie Football think..."We're too good for that...we're A&M. We can't take an assistant or young guy...we're A&M".....on and on......

It's time to take a chance and think outside of the box. I've paid for to 23 years of mediocre Aggie Football season tickets and would actually like to see us compete for NC in my lifetime....instead of saying it and creating feel-good videos about it!!!

It's called a risk-averse conservative business approach and it screams A&M leadership lacks people with an understanding of the game.
