Some media member heard it might be Stoops and posted it as "reports are" to give themselves cover for making **** up. Then other media members joined in reporting the story because the media is one large circle jerk these days and cant do their own f'n work, they have to cheat off their neighbor's paper.

That's what happened.

What happened is that word leaked of final negotiations (guys, Stoops will take this, what do you think?) before the guys that sign the checks have signed off on it. If you had to hire under this microscope it would happen to you.
