I think it's clear jimbo and Ross did not get along. And sounds like Jimbo pissed a lot of people off. The media turned on him quickly

WHAT? We fired Jimbo? What's this about a new coach?

The timing on his firing is certainly suspect in my opinion. It was after a 52-10 victory that day and a week before playing Abilene Christian. The assumption would be that the next coach up was already basically signed and ready to come coach the Ags after the end of the regular season. However, with what happened yesterday, I feel like the assumptions made a**es out of you and me.

Because somehow and it's really mind blowing, we have clowns in positions that make these decisions. And it's not the first time, we continually do this.

Money got mad.

Because E.Rob has been the choice all along. You set him up for an easy win against Abilene Christian and hope for the best against Lsu.

AD was afraid Jimbo might win the last 2 games and the will to fire him would collapse.

5 years ago, it would have been a great move because there's no rush to hire new coaches and it would have given Ross more time to interview and vet candidates.

Now, with the transfer portal, early signing, and NIL, midseason firings are a pretty bad idea. The AD is left feeling like he must hire someone by early December or the recruiting class could collapse and all our on-campus talent could be stolen via the portal. He can't wait til after the bowl games to make a hire or he risks the whole house of cards falling down. He's under pressure to hire now.

Which is to say, he should have had his man locked up if he wanted to fire midseason. But Ross isn't up with the times. He's driving 55 in the left lane and the sport is passing him by.

Because the football program is an epic cluster **** right now far beyond what we see on the field. Kids are skipping practice, the 5* stars are doing whatever they want, other kids are treated like ***** There is zero accountability in the program and Jimbo needed to go. It's a miracle we managed to win as many games as we did with the instability of the program right now

I agree but it appears there is some of that happening.

With the Jimbo money pit and the transfer portal timeline compared to available decade level coaches, I'm not sure this hire will be that. You end up losing your recruits and all the top players in the portal to replace the transfers.

This is where the program has to take a chance and stop acting like there is a sure thing out there. There is not one available.

Hire Schumann on a shorter contract and let him attempt to install what he learned under Smart and Saban. Bring him along with a right hand man to help navigate BMAs and the media.

Fran had less than half of what Jimbo was handed. Both stuck their foot in there mouth repeatedly. Both had embarrassing losses, Fran's worse, both didn't know how to coach a QB. Fran probably put more players in the league.

Fran went 32-28 and 19-21 for 1.7MM a year. Both were awful but Jimbo sucked just as bad minus the 77-0. So close

Ross had no power to fire Jimbo.

But Ross LOVES talking to the media. It's the only reason he was quoted directly multiple times in that Athletic article.

Most ADs keep their mouths shut and work on their coaching search.

Ross was busy making sure reporters were getting quotes to help craft his (usually bad) narrative.

This. Remember the Les Miles debacle after they upset us in Baron Rouge? We've seen that movie before and didn't want to do a remake

I can guarantee you Bjork is not laughing at this point. He is tap dancing and trying to save his a$$ from the *****show of last night. He'll be lucky to survive this.

My guess is getting two qbs injured and playing Max with broken rib(s) factored into it. If he's that careless and still continues to lose, something had to be done.

With mostly Sumlin's recruits during a year when road games had no fans in the seats. Last two years no road wins.
